Why should he hurry? The US is only losing 3 (on average) soldiers a day. So by waiting a few more weeks he'll only be killing about 44 soldiers, to drag his feet.

I don't know why we're thinking it'll be any different. After nearly four years, he's not going to do a damn thing anyway, and we all know it.

Unsurprising--what we're seeing here is the dumbfounded, minutes-long blank stare that was on display in Fahrenheit 9/11, after being told that the WTC had been attacked. In this case, however, the Decider's indecision is writ large and with even more horrific consequences.

At least Nero could play the fiddle.
