Prompted by a comment from Paco, just wanted to tell those interested that my mom got back safely tonight. She ended up driving, with Nancy in tow. Looks like she didn't want to have to wait and make mome ither come back out to get her or fly and ship her stuff, so she just headed out right off once the decision was made for her to live with us. I'M ALIVE. In other words, we made it home safe at like 5 AM this morning and I zonked right out. At work at the mo' and its been hellza busy so this is my first chance to really check up on anything. Hope y'all are well. I'll give a more detailed winddown from home later.

Wheee. Just ran out of gas on the pit of hell and nothingness that is I-40. Thank god for AAA, but they only give (or rather sell, you have to pay them for it) you enough gas to get to the next station. The mext station where gas is 3.67/gallon, i might add, because it's the only thing around.

I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving! Mine was nice. Leona makes amazing corn and Ina made a chocolate pecan pie which is the most amazing thing ever invented. I found it interesting that both of them made both turkey AND ham for some reason.

Today we briefly lost Nancy in the mall, but it was no major upheaval. I also got a pair of shoes, and saw my first cotton candy vending machine. We got Alicia her first Chick-Fil-A, and got a shake at Steak-n-Shake. It was a hyphenated-food day ( Read more... ) -

So Alicia made it here safely. We didn't do much today other than check out some pawn shops because there are a billion around here and Max had never been to one. No crazy finds, unfortunately, but mom did come to this Hispanic lady's rescue while in the thrift store. She didn't speak English and was buying clothes with this charity low-income ( Read more... ) -

Today we found a Cake Wreck and made butter. Those two things are unrelated, and shall be presented to you pictorally for your benefit. I'm sorry they're a bit huge and unrotated, i am limited by the capacities of technology.

So today we went to Ft. Smith to visit mom's one full sister (versus her abundance of half and step siblings) and her one-legged husband.
We're classy people.
Max was briefly baffled because he thought we were going to an actual FORT, like military, not that it was the name of the city. He was not enthused. I set him straight, though.
