HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.

Are you serious? Let's disregard the whole issue of driving with dulled reflexes in bad weather and focus on the fact that he started screaming at you for hitting his car. So, glad to see he has his priorities screwed on right. It's not like you are more important than his "she's my baby" truck. He is wildly irresponsible and your uncle was absolutely right in telling him to grow the hell up.

He knows that I'm more important than his truck. Honestly? My first reaction would have been like WTF are you doing too, because he was stopped at a red light and I randomly slid into him. Does that make me a bad person? No. It makes me a normal person whose normal reaction is 'holy shit what just happened.' I didn't mention that as soon as he went back to Quanz (who was following me) and told him that we were just going to go back to Brian's place, he came over and hugged me and asked me if I was okay, checked out the car and gave me another hug before asking if I was okay to drive behind him. He called me right after we pulled away to ask again if I was okay and kept trying to calm me down because I was crying, and throughout the whole night he kept telling me that it was okay -- that even though I "broke his truck" (my words, not his) that it was just a truck and it was most important that I was okay. He kept giving me hugs and rubbing my back and trying to make me feel better by joking around about it. The first question out of ( ... )

Boys can be silly sometimes and you are right, it's his decision in the end. Your mum and your uncle are probably just worried about both of you even though parents always suck at expressing that constructively. Police are scary though and boo to your mum for not being nice about it.

I hope your car is ok and I hope you're feeling better.

First of all, I'm really glad you're okay.

Second, I have to agree with what everyone else has said. It's difficult to drive in the snow when you're sober and Brian shouldn't have been driving drunk at all, let alone when the roads were so bad. If he gets a DUI it's because of the poor choice he made and not anything you did. Honestly, he's lucky because either you or he could have been badly hurt. Yes, you hit his truck but it was an accident, he shouldn't have yelled at you like that and he sure as hell should be accepting responsibility for the part he played in what happened.

Austin said "that's what insurance is for".

I just figure that if you're not mad or you're feelings aren't hurt about him yelling at you then it really doesn't matter.

I'm echoing Sarah. Buzzed driving is drunk driving. It's absolutely the stupidest thing that can be done as well as the most selfish. I'm not going to lecture you because you don't need that when he's the one getting behind the wheel after he's had a drink, but. It's really, really not okay.

Accidents suck though, and I'm sorry you're in pain. It is probably whiplash, but take care of yourself. ♥

That really sucks, hun. I'm sorry. You are lucky it was him though, so you didn't have to call the cops. I don't know why you went to the cops the next day though ... I don't think you have to file a police report after the fact. At least I didn't when I got in a fender bender in a parking lot. :\
