Batman Arguments I Make Over And Over

Hanging out on the internet for so long, I find myself arguing the same thing over and over. This is true for many things, but I noticed that there are several Batman arguments I continually find myself making. So just for fun, I'll state all of them here. "This actually is related to something I've always wondered about. Some people, (including "The Old Maid" of Toonzone, who's opinion on DCAU Batman I respect above all others, though Maxie Zeus is a close second) interperet the post-flashback events of "Return of the Joker" as "Batman couldn't forgive Tim for violating his code of ethics, that is, taking a life, the Joker's. After the flash back, Batman fired Robin and threw him out of the house, but made sure at least he landed in the home of Leslie Thompkins, and not the cold hard street." Many people hold this opinion, but I just don't see it. I see no evidence that Bruce held the killing of Joker against Tim. I see tons of evidence that Bruce was guilt wracked over what happened, and couldn't face Tim, but made sure he got help from Leslie. Tim took offense at being fired, and left voluntarily. Hm, so that's something you had against JLU? Interesting. I just find it refreshing to look back on previous depictions of Batman and to have him be a peak human crime fighter without being overly dark. The blue costume is even growing on me! But I still prefer the modern Batman, as long as he's not too much of a jerk ( ... )

1. Agree.

2. I'm not as familiar with the Superfriends Batman as I am with the Adam West Batman. I totally agree that AW Batman was actually a top notch detective for his universe. I prefer the Adam West Batman to the Superfriends Batman because the AW Batman show is INTENTIONALLY campy.

3. I agree with this but I DO have to agree with Style that Wonder Woman's villains are probably more dangerous than the majority of Batman's rogues.

4. This is even an issue in the comics? WTH?

At the same time, though, Batman and Robin was intentionally campy, but it didn't work. Maybe Adam West just sold it better. Most of the time, Superfriends Batman isn't bad, he'll beat the villain by flipping him into something or tying him up. Occasionally you get Batman using magic on Riddler or an inflatable batarang, but I think he worked well in the context of the show.

Batman fortifying Arkham isn't so much an issue in the comics as it is an issue with the fans. You could even say DCAU Batman has access to advanced technology in the Watchtower (although in the comics its explicitly stated that Mr. Miracle and Big Barda beefed up the defenses with New Genesis technology). Many fans think since it's at Batman's disposal, he should use it in Gotham too (but I think that's ridiculous).

I've never seen Batman and Robin.

It seems to me that a lot of comic book fans are stupid if they want New Genesis tech at Arkham.
