It's a gentleman's duty to help protect a lady's dignity. What do your 'numbers' in the city do? I've heard others refer to you as reapers of a sort.

Shinigami are death gods, or spirit reapers. We actually have little to do here, since there's no true death in the city.

We send wandering souls to Soul Society.... and cleanse corrupt souls so they can welcomed in Soul Society.
