Writing a novel is a fun thing to do, especially when you aren't going it really seriously. I've broken the 130,000 word mark and it got really fun.

In the end my book was crap, but it balances out, just have a go to get your ideas out.

Speaking of writing badly (though, alas, in this case not intentionally) - there's always the Eye of Argon, the classic horror story of fantasy/scifi convention fame. If you've escaped this monstrosity so far, you're in the lucky position of being able to take up the challenge from a fresh start:

Read the Eye of Argon, aloud, to one or more people whose faces you can see.

See how far you get through it before you break down laughing.

Ooh, and there's some more bad-writing horror info at the parent page:

Not, alas, the art of writing badly with skill and effort - this is all native talent.

I don't actually want to read bad writing. There's a reason I didn't read any of the sequels to Twilight.
I just like when people write about what not to do :)

$35 with shipping? :O Because I'm definitely going to order it but I was thinking of CDJapan since I'm ordering some other stuff from there too and bundling stuff cuts shipping costs. But $35 is much cheaper than what they're offering.

Good luck for the exchange thing I really hope you get it :3

$35 not including shipping.
Including shippin (for 1 or two items) it's 1,200yen, which is about AU$14 (1,500 for three items, 1,800 for four items...)

I figured if would be cheaper to do a group order, but...
How much is the CDJapan version and how much is their shipping? Maybe I'll join *you* instead =P

Just checked things out... CDJapan is about AU$43 for the limited edition.
Shipping: by registered airmail (takes 4-12 days) it's the same price as HMV.
For un-registered airmail, the shipping is around $9 (or you could get SAL for $6, but that takes 1-3 weeks)

HMV takes 6-14 days for shipping, and it's done only via EMS.

CDJapan is faster then - I usually get my stuff the day after release even if I pick the slowest shipping option. idk how a group order on cdjapan might work though...?
