I've been tagging my LJ liberally too, just since it's useful whenever I talk about x to have all posts involving x at my fingertips (and... anyone else who care's fingertips).
I wouldn't be able to help with the CSS stuff, apologies.
It's interesting you refer to yourself as "Cake" now. I've become so used to "Claire" (although my manager calls me "Binkles") it's just automatic. And even when someone refers to something "clear" I snap to attention. (My favourite colour isn't clear though.)
I have no idea -_- I will look over it again (and/or re-modify all the colours/etc) this evening, I guess >_<;;;; Since the original custom CSS works fine, it must be something I did - I tried validating the code on W3, but that didn't really help (and I don't think it liked validating from the live url). bleh. Really, it's way too much of a hassle for someone else to trawl through the code, but I thought I'd take the chance, just in case someone was really bored.
...? eh, really? When I pasted it into lj's external custom css box, my journal just failed to have any CSS at all. hum.... maybe I'll try it again?? o_o
padding-top: 680px is way too huge, make it smaller. Then try seeing if your header works. I think the url for your header is currently in the wrong place, but I don't really get this code so you're on your own for that ;D But yeah, change your top padding to a smaller number =)
Also, tags are awesome fun.
Also also, I approve so SO much of you getting into Nightmare. Music-wise they're not the most amazing band ever, but they are five awesomely fun personalities ;D
Haha that's pretty funny because most hxc Nightmare fans tend to like their older stuff (around anima) and think they went downhill recently XD I'm ambivalent either way...they've come out with some awesome songs lately, but selected older things are kickass too =)

As for the problem with your layout, I think there's something wrong with your top padding here:
#content {background: url(http://i35.tinypic.com/aufrzl.jpg) #000000 no-repeat top center; padding-top: 680px !important;}
padding-top: 680px is way too huge, make it smaller. Then try seeing if your header works. I think the url for your header is currently in the wrong place, but I don't really get this code so you're on your own for that ;D But yeah, change your top padding to a smaller number =)

Yeah, like I said, Nightmare is definitely growing on me. I prefer the albums and later stuff to the earlier singles :)
