This is just a post to highlight some older ones

First to go is one with which I mediate that, I take back taking back that H's boyfriend made certain slanderous comments on my LJ (old post about it hereK (H's bf) wants to hide his Asperger's Syndrome from her because apparently he thinks his AS is a direct cause, an "excuse" for his narcissism ( Read more... )

Yeah. I mean, some things can't be helped, like tendencies for different sorts of social inadequacy: I loved all sorts of weird things and would with others go into monologies about my personal interest and it wasn't until afterward that I realised why that (among other things) might have been misunderstood and then responded to with bullying. Some things just won't go away, either. Asperger's is characterised by a severe case of OCD, so aspies easily have very peculiar idiosyncracies (depending on the individual) and may behave in some ways repetitively and robotic because of that. There are many positive things related to the syndrome as well, so I'm not at all for the "cure autism"-thing that's going around, but it's sad that some decide not to develop themselves, and end up being stuck in their destructive behaviour while claming free pass because they were born that way ( ... )
