I just rediscovered a childhood-TV-program by stumbling over it on a list of old Aussie TV-series

I remember this! Ahhh, precious nostalgia...I have these certain visual "stills", separate frames/scenes that I remember from watching it back then...and the theme music!! Not to mention that it was super cool to spot the poster for PSB's "Actually" ( Read more... )

Dear Camilla (ever shorten it to "Cam" -- like the gorgeous girl in "Bones"?...coincidentally we just saw the first "Bones" of the new fall season -- do you get it simultaneously in Europe?)

A nice chatty post, sweetie. It's great you and your dad can have deep conversations like that! (My parents are both gone -- my dad when I was quite young; I recall that you lost your mom when you were young...)

Hoping you've caught up on the lost sleep!

BTW I've just posted a couple of extended things; I'd love to have your reaction to them. A bit touchie-feelie, but you are so intelligent about shared intimacy...

Kisses, J

Some English speaking friends do call me "Cam" sometimes, but I don't get that too often. I don't really watch TV that much, I stream most stuff online :P

I don't really recall when I last thought of my mom as my mother, she's still around but more like a person I get along with. I am only bugged with her when she pretends to be a mother and demands the privileges she never earned.

I'll check out your blog :)

Hi,
as agreed I'm posting in this particular entry.

Things were better in the old days is a common expression that fits well here. I haven't seen any good Australian series since the 90's. What I've learned about nostalgia though is that you just have to indulge it. What surprised me though, is that "The Girl from Tomorrow" is only 24 episodes over two seasons.

Actually I did learn of an actually good drama series called "Love my Way", or at least it entertained me well. Could be though that my "slight" predisposition for all things Australian had perhaps something to do with this :D based on my liking "Love my Way" a friend of mine recommended me the series "The Secret Life of Us", but I learned that unfortunately it is extremely hard to come by...

The sweet nectar of nostalgia is indeed to be indulged, to drench all senses possible and relive the magic that once was. And yeah, I was slightly surprised as well to find that out, not to mention that every episode is only about 20 minutes each.

What puzzles me though is, that imdb gives me an article on season 1 and season 2, but also on what appears to be a TV-movie. Thing is, that the plot for the alleged movie is pretty close to that of the first season, so I'm only wondering if they are the same, the other one just a version chopped in 12, just like some Astrid Lindgren filmatizings that also have been presented as series' but otherwise ( ... )
