This is the Penultimate day of 2009. It's been a crazy, crazy year. Had it's ups and downs. But, so far at least, 2010 is looking better than 2009.

Our mixed martial arts coach at the Salle, Coach Foldz, got interested in highland games at one point. So, a tree trunk appeared in the salle one day. I took it with good grace, though I thought it was a terribly ungainly thing to store indoors. It was a bit short for a caber, at 13-14 feet. Warning, this is crude, it's long (and you won't get the full impact unless you suffer through most of it), and I don't know that I can fairly comment on what it actually is. I tended a tether line (crewed) for this balloon, "The Conflict of Interest" owned and operated by the David and Chris Heinsohn out of Elmdale, Ks.

They were participating in the 2009 Huff-n-Puff, held annually in Topeka. Lots of fun, and we'll be doing it again this evening! There were a BUNCH of balloons there.
