It might be some weeks before their paths cross again, but Michelle has lingered in Jack's mind: she's a bright spot in his world, especially now that the darkness has started to creep in around the edges. Shadows have never avoided him, but for the most part, he's only had his own hide to protect, and said hide has plenty of ways to keep itself

Tamara's fallen asleep. It's particularly frustrating as not five minutes before, Michelle had been nursing, but the effort of it all has tuckered the baby out.

Perfectly decent (even when she nurses, she's very discreet about it, unless she's alone) Michelle's having a conversation with an unconscious infant. "Not even a little more? We're going to have to talk about you leaving Mama so uncomfortable." The words, sound like scolding, but the tone is all absolute love.

It's about now she looks up to see who is with them. "Verrity!" Don't be offended, as the little girl gets greeted first. "She's taking you out for a walk?" Michelle stands, rather gracefully, considering she's holding a baby. "Come meet Tamara!" That's for both of them.

On her first trip in, she didn't have the chance, but now, now Jack and Verrity can have a proper introduction.
