Well, I finally buckled down and did it. I emailed my dance instructor, coming out and whatnot. Now, it remains to be seen what the response is. I hope it's not "get the fuck out, you weirdo" or anything. We'll see... I mean, dance is kind of, well, really gendered, and pretty strict about it. For some reason, I'm terrified of coming out to my dance class. It starts, I believe, a week from today (although it might be two weeks, I still have to check), and I don't know what I'm going to do. Oh god, I hurt so much. The first day of dance causes so much pain. Basically everything from my neck down to my toes hurts. With the exception of my arms and my stomach muscles, those seem relatively untouched. Pretty much my whole back and my legs hurt though ( Read more... )

Because of the whole changing room problem. If I have to shop for clothes, then I can go to all the trouble to not go to public bathrooms, or only go to 'safe' ones... and I'm still screwed, because I have to go to another gender-differentiated place anyway ( Read more... )

It's not like I've been to a lot of dances. I went to two in high school (not impressed), and I've been to dances at conventions. The thing is, I never know quite what to do at them.
