i was going to stay up til midnight so that it was posted on the right day but you know how it goes.

in my first half of the response over here i posited that the Master was a contraposition.

so to be true to my Libran nature i feel bound to explain against what he is opposite. ladies and gentlebeings, The UNIT Familythe reason this project was ( Read more... )

Ooh, marvellous! Fine and dandy use of the titles as backdrop there too.

I didn't know that it was 10 years tomorrow. All hail Jon. I feel we should all don frilly shirts in commemmoration or something.

thank you :)
I have to admit the UNIT family pic is a modified screen grab but only cos my poor puter wouldnt let me create work on a canvas large ehough to fit the original art over. the pertwee solo image is a haphazard recreation in PSP.

the idea was that the Pertwee era is all about colour, especially reds. except for the master - even in colour he's still black and white. a visual as well as charecter driven contraposition.

and as soon as i saw the original Pertwee image on which this is based the solo pic HAD to be titled "Do you want to come with me?" i could even hear him reading ecclstone's lines in my head :')

Uah, so cool. They look very spooky, actually. With the fog spreading and all that. *makes ghosty noises*

I'm debating over making a general UNIT tag... Seems like people have a tendency to list it as one giant companion.

well, i notice poor old Mike was without earlier. a UNIT tag could help if anyone ever draws a platoon facing off against the budget conscious 3 monsters...

the fog was a matter of necessity i must admit, the orignal art is 3 A4 pages, with the Dr, Brig & Jo, Yates & Benton seperate. i deliberately didnt draw the feet so that i could resize the pics to get the actor's heights right when merged for the finished canvas.
then the fog machine came in for some stick in a sort of 70s Top of the Pops way. must remember not to draw Marc Bolan if i ever try this for Tom Baker ;)

Me too y'know. 4 or 5 years between discovering Seven and discovering Three. Only with me it was because it was all that was on the telly.

only a four year gap for me but i did have to learn to read.
i blame my proclivity for excessive verbiage on the existance of Target books.

i even told Terrance Dicks that he almost single handedly taught to me to read once!
