This Chick Here: The Ring

I have a Ring. Its a crown with one of the sides broken up and the top piece missing; its damaged, its old and it hardly ever matches my clothing.

I wear it on the ring finger of my left hand.

Adults always mock me with amused glances and disparaging remarks such as: "Are you getting married?" or "Who's your fiance?" or the ever popular "Your ring ( Read more... )

I'm glad you are sticking to it. I made the mistake when I was 16 and regretted ever since. The guy I was with then basically was cheating on me (which I found out after we broke up) and got married soon after. Not that my second boyfriend was much better (total nutjob).

But you should stick with it. It's a good thing. And I only wish that I had the patience to wait until I was older...

I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I've occasionally been teased about my purity ring too. I had made the decision a long time ago, though only got a ring to show it last year. Even before I was Christian I thought sex was something sacred, and that should only be shared with someone you truly love.

I'm a virgin, and though I don't really view marriage as the necessary preponent, I agree that sex is sacred and should only be shared with someone you love. I honour your decision. Stick with it and be strong. :)

This was such a beautiful entry. I love that you shared this with us- it gives nice insight. That isn't exactly the wording I meant to use, but it is enough to say the baseline of what I wanted to..haha.

I'm glad that you won't judge anyone for their personal choices- this is a nice trait I like to see in people c:

Shattered, this is great to know I am not alone in the world. I feel like I can relate even though I don't have a purity ring to show my commitment. I love the way you wrote about your experiences and used a symbol to get across the point. This is just a great piece to read, and I may even return to your profile just to read it again.
