In the crosstalk, they discuss the group's "birthday rush", the "Bari Hapi" MV filming, some of the songs, and what they want to accomplish next.
(For the questions, because this issue was the 100th issue, they're related to the number 100.)
Crosstalk
Speaking of summer, the Johnny's WEST's birthday rush has begun.
Nakama: It's arrived.
Kamiyama: This is the time I buy things the most.
Hamada: Last year we all gave one present per person together, but this year we're doing them individually.
Shigeoka: Well, it's the feeling that counts!
Kamiyama: For my birthday messages, though Hama-chan sent his first, all of the other members' messages came in rapid succession after his.
Kiriyama: When I'm not sure what to get as a present, I ask. Then, Kotaki responded saying he wanted a microwave oven. But in the middle of the night yesterday, he sent me a message with a really expensive one, saying "it's okay if it's not this one" (laughs).
Kotaki: Because I knew the manufacturer name, I said "this!", but later when I saw it online and realized it was really expensive, I said "it's okay if it's not this one" (laughs).
Kiriyama: That's really cute, right?
How was going to Okinawa to film the MV for "Bari Hapi"?
Kotaki: Kiriyama came to my room, suddenly took off his clothes, and started doing "air" nunchuks (laughs)
Kiriyama: It was hot (laughs). After that, the three of us took a bath right?
Kotaki: Yeah! Hama-chan happened to come over to my room to borrow shampoo and went to take a bath. After he entered the bath, Kiriyama playfully entered too, saying "it's really narrow!" They were making a lot of noise and seemed to be having a lot of fun. I couldn't endure it anymore and entered too.
Hamada: It's a fun memory.
Kiriyama: After that, Shige kept carefully picking up hermit crabs?
Shigeoka: The hermit crabs were really big.
Kiriyama: It was fresh recording a song by the sea for the first time.
Nakama: It was the first time all of the members recorded a song together too.
In the c/w, "Ma・ru・mo・u・ke", Kiriko and Tomoko (Kiriyama and Kamiyama's female characters) appeared.
Kamiyama: Yes, they appeared.
Kotaki: In our group, we have a lot of girl characters. In this time's MV I also appeared as a girl (laughs).
Shigeoka: Our call out, "moriagaren no ka!? orera shidai ya!!"* also appears in the lyrics.
[t/n: "are you fired up!? It's up to us!!" - this is a call out they've been doing since their kanju days in concerts]
Nakama: I want to do that in a live. I want everyone in the venue to say the "moriagaren no ka!?" part.
Shigeoka: Ah, that.
Nakama: Wouldn't that make you excited?
Kiriyama: Right, Ryusei?
Fujii: Yeah~.
Shigeoka: It's come! The last resort!
Kamiyama: He finally talked (laughs).
Fujii: Well~ I think people will favour the songs. "Ma・ru・mo・u・ke" is a song with chattering in it that would be performed in a concert during the opening medley, "Meikyuu SUMMER" is a song accented with coolness, and "All My Love" is also a good song. Before planning it we collected phrases from the fans to make the lyrics, and I think there are a lot of parts where you can relate to it.
Kiriyama: You talked for a long time~.
Fujii: I thought I should do my job here.
Nakama: A solo comment (laughs).
Tour, TV... you've accomplished one after another.
Hamada: Yeah.
Nakama: I think it's a good pace. Using our strength little by little.
Shigeoka: Using our strength little by little is good!
Kiriyama: You don't need to repeat him (laughs).
Fujii: It's a slow start.
What is your next upcoming goal?
Hamada: A world tour!
Kamiyama: You're jumping ahead.
Fujii: That's where we'd aim for last (laughs).
Kiriyama: We'll do our best to spread the broadcast area of the program we just started.
Kotaki: That's for sure. Let's do our best!
Random questions
Which member seems like they would live to 100 years old?
Nakama: Maybe Akito. Shige is too health-conscious, which, conversely, is likely to lead to premature death (laughs). It's impossible for Hama-chan.
Hamada: Shige. He's a health geek of Naniwa. He's even Naniwa's thoroughly prepared man.
Kiriyama: ...Me, right. Right now, I thought maybe Shige or Hama-chan. But Hama-chan would become malnourished, and if the herbal medicine Shige is always drinking disappears it'd be over (laughs). So I think it's me. If I'm careful it seems I'll reach 100.
Shigeoka: Isn't it Akito-kun? Somehow it seems like he'd live (laughs).
Kamiyama: Shige. He's the most careful about his health. On the opposite of those health-concious things, if things like the humidifer were taken away it would immediately be bad. Basically, I think everyone will live long lives.
Fujii: Hama-chan. Somehow I can imagine it, Hama-chan as a kind grandpa.
Kotaki: It's definitely impossible for Ryusei. By process of elimination, it's probably me. Because I'm the most carefree.
What 100% juice do you like?
Nakama: Taiwan's watermelon juice is extremely sweet and delicious. Even now I want to drink it.
Hamada: Guava juice. I drink it every day. It's sweet, dark, and delicious.
Kiriyama: I don't really drink juice. I like coconut juice. At first I didn't like it, but recently, I've come to think it's delicious.
Shigeoka: Probably apple juice. In the past, it was grape juice, but now it tastes too sweet. And then, I like orange juice, but it feels like something you drink when you're thirsty.
Kamiyama: I don't drink 100% juice. I don't have memories of drinking apple juice but the orange juice was sour. I like all juices with pulp though.
Fujii: Up until now the most delicious juice I've had is a 100% grape juice made by a wine company.
Kotaki: Guava juice. Hama-chan recommended it to me. When I went over to his house, and he let me try it, I was surprised at how good it was. Hama-chan really drinks it every day. It gives you the feeling you're in Hawaii.
