Walter looks like a...girl?
Anyway, I didn't think they'd actually do it, but, well, theres something to get excited about now :D (I haven't been too up to date with my anime for a very long, long time :()

Hee. I don't think he's "girly," really, but maybe that's just because you see him alongside Girlycard. *wink*
Any OVA information you like can be found here, and the trailor is here. And this place has links to scanslations (well, for Chapter 5, just scans thus far) of The Dawn, among other things.
And to answer your question... Hellsing: The Dawn takes place in 1944, in Germany. Walter C. Dornes and Alucard go to fight against some very familiar faces (for fans of the manga...): Herr Major, Doc, and the Captain put in an appearance. It's back when Millenium was trying to make vampires to fight in the war, and ended up with an army of ghouls. Walter and Alucard went to hunt them down and wipe them out. ;)
