--lose 10 lbs (preferably before summer) --finish C25k --complete a monthly art project --finish the Grand Project --do something amazing for New Year's --read 100 books
i want to lose 10 lbs by summer, too. maybe 20 if i can manage. i gave up soda, ice cream, and chocolate and most products with HFCS at the 1st of the new year. i am on my 11th day without soda. i used to drink 2, sometimes 3 cans a day of soda. i do not know how i am accomplishing it. i also have stuck to a daily exercise regiment of 30 min and have cut my diet from 3,500 calories to 1,800 to 2,220.
Holy cow! 3,500 calories??? What were you eating??? Lol. Wow.
I don't know if I'll do a strict diet, though it worked out pretty well last time (before, you know, I scrapped the whole thing for ice cream :3), but I have to do like, 1000-1200 max in order for it to be effective.
i used to eat a steak twice a day - this doesn't count all the other junk I ate in between. sometimes i had 4 or 5 full meals. it was killer. i don't know if i could personally do a 1,200 diet but i might be able to do a 1,500 one. i do hip hop abs HAHA. it breaks down exercises by weeks. i'm now on week 2 and the exercises are nearly an hour long. really works off a sweat. the focus is just keeping your abs tight while you do cardio.
how do you keep yourself from getting hungry?
(i also stopped wearing make up too, which is pretty cool. i'm just trying to keep track of my skin health as my diet improves.)
Steak twice a day! I'm a little jealous, but honestly speaking, I think I would get physically sick eating that much on a regular basis. Lol.
I've been entertaining the thought of joining a gym, but I don't know. I'm not 100% convinced I'd stick with it to justify the monthly membership.
On a normal day (barring restaurants and drinks and such), I don't eat too much more than the 1,200, and usually what gets me is the excess snacks and ice cream. I don't usually get hungry, but sometimes I get these bad cravings for sweets and snacks-- for no other reason, I suspect, than because I'm consciously putting them off limits.
How's the makeup thing going on? I don't wear too much makeup-- just BareMinerals powder, mascara, and lip gloss at most. Too much more and I can't recognize my reflection, lol.
I didn't put an "official" one together, but some of my want-to-read pile include:
Middlemarch, George Eliot Labyrinths, Jorge Luis Borges The Distant Land of My Father, Bo Caldwell The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, Aimee Bender Those Who Save Us, Jenna Blum
Our poor support journal kind of went the way of the dinos. I kept forgetting about it. Oops?
I find it so hard to read books these days. Don't get me wrong, I love the feel of them in my hands (and lets not get into how much I love old book smell) but I guess I've been so out of practice lately. Anything I read on paper is usually in 8X10 format or textbooks.
(I lost my 101 Books to Read Before You Die list. Do you happen to have one?)
Dude, my last entry keeps getting some strange ass comments! I thought I asked whether or not you wanted me to keep it up, and I thought we came to the conclusion to go ahead and take it down, but I never actually did... Then again, I could be thinking of something else completely. Anyway, are you following any sort of program or diet this year?
I don't have a 101 list, but I do have a 180 list. Lol. I really probably should get back to that one, by the way.
I saw those! I had the community on watch, but the comments forced me to de-watch it (if that's even a word). WTF? I dunno, it was a good idea at the beginning, but really... we lack the discipline to keep up with it, me especially.
I'm following the "do this and don't stop until you're done" diet. Two weeks in and I'm still a vegetarian, so something must be going right! (As for the direct answer to your question - no, I'm not. I think I'm just going to do this monthly thing. January is veggie month, February is no takeout or eating out month. I'm debating over March. I think it might be a Jillian Michaels "Making the Cut" month.)
That sounds like a cool program, though I could never do the vegetarian thing. I love meat way too much. Lol. I'm roasting an entire turkey tonight because I didn't get a satisfactory slice during the holidays. :P
I can't wait for spring, though. I'm done with the cold weather. Lol.
