A particularly loud snore woke me up at 8 in the morning, I groaned as I looked at my clock taking my pillow out from under my head and smacking Ian in the face with it, “Shut up!”

He murmured in his sleep, not even waking up, as he turned over on to his side, his snoring for the moment subdued. I tried to get back to sleep but to no avail, so I decided to get up and take care of our little problem right away. Throwing on a fresh pair of boxers I walked out into my living room and grabbed the phone.

I called up my agent because I really had no idea how to get the tickets I needed. He picked up sounding cheerful and filled with coffee, “Andrew! To what do I owe this special occasion?”

“Um…well…I need a favour.”

“Continue…” he went on his voice level.

“I need to get a pair of season tickets, good tickets. I don’t really know where to get them.”

“I think I can arrange it for you, it’s going to set you back by quite a bit though. This for family?”

“Uh…yeah, something like that. How much is it going to cost do you think?” I heard the figure but it didn’t really register, until ”…wow. That’s definitely a bit. Okay. I’ll e-mail you the name and address to send them to. Yep…” he droned on about our next meeting, “Yep. Okay….Mmhmm. Right. Bye.” I hung up the phone, allowing myself to exhale.

Was Ian worth all this trouble…he walked still naked through the apartment into the kitchen getting a glass of water before going back to bed, as I watched his powerful form over the back of the couch I decided that he was worth an arena of season tickets.

Ian spent the whole day with his agent yesterday discussing the terms of his contract with JFJ. I wasn’t worried, they would resign him, no doubt in my mind. He was just what this hockey club needed; he was talented, he played with passion, he was young, he was hot…wait when did this become a list of things I liked about Ian.

I was hanging out at Matt’s place when I felt my cell phone vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out to see ‘Ian’ on the display, an instant smile on my face I flipped it open to see I had a new text message. ‘Turn on Lfs Tv’

I grabbed the remote away from Matty with much protest and turned on our channel, it was a press conference. Matt looked interested, “What’s going on?”

“Shhh.” I watched as the camera shifted from John Ferguson Jr., to Paul Maurice, to Ian. As was typical at my seeing Ian after being apart for more than an hour, my stomach squirmed excitedly as my eyes settled on him.

Ferguson spoke first as GM, “After a day of negotiations, we have just come into agreement with Mr. White and his agent. Mr. White will be rejoining the maple leafs for a further 3 years,” I smiled absent-mindedly at the thought of being together, “as is policy with our Maple Leafs hockey club, the other terms of his contract will not be discussed with the media. Paul?” Matt leaned over, squeezing my arm excitedly in a form of congratulations as we both continued to listen intently.

The camera shifted to Maurice again, his turn to speak, “This past season was Ian’s first full season with the Maple Leafs. We liked what we saw, as we had liked what we saw when he was with the Marlies. There’s no denying that his ability to get the puck out of our zone and his powerplay specialities helped our team last year. We are pleased with this young defenseman’s offensive ability; he was tied for second last year for scoring among rookie defenseman.” He looked over at Ian, “Next year, let’s try and make it first.” The room of reporters chuckled to themselves in the background.

“We see a lot of promise in this young player as we see in a lot of our “young guns”, the future for this hockey club looks brighter every day. We hope to see a lot more of Ian in the upcoming season, and a lot more of his shots in the back of the net.” The media laughed again, “We’ll try and answer any questions you have now.” The camera turned on to Ian.

He was trying not to smile too much and be professional, but the news of him staying in Toronto obviously had him elated. He pointed to a reporter we couldn’t see, and we heard a mumbled voice, ask him how he was feeling, he laughed, “Obviously, I’m ecstatic. I love playing for the Leafs, playing for a Canadian team. I love this city. And I’m glad I’m staying, if only for another three years.”

He nodded to the next journalist, “Are you pleased with the terms of your contract?”

Ian thought for a moment, “Well we came to an agreement, didn’t we? Something that makes both sides happy. So yes, I am pleased with it.”

Maurice pointed to someone in the back, “Last question, we have to wrap this up.”

“Who’s the first person you are going to call with this news?”

Ian looked at the camera, giving it that mischievous grin he reserved only for me, “My dad, of course.”

“Alright, thank you ladies and gent-“ JFJ addressed the press one last time, but I had already tuned him out. Matt was smiling at me too, happy that we would be together again next season. I jerked my head down as I felt my cell phone vibrating again.

Ian’s voice crackled from my phone, “Hi Dad.”

I laughed, “Hey! We’re so happy for you! This is amazing. Come over to Matt’s and we’ll celebrate!”

“Hmm…I have another idea. How about I meet you at home and we celebrate there?” his voice dropping to a whisper as he was still sitting in a room full of the press.

“I think Matt will be disappointed, but he’ll get over it.” Matt’s eyebrows descended into a confused expression, only hearing one side of the conversation.

“All I could think about when they said three years, was three more years here in Toronto…with you.” His voice still a whisper, but excited all the same, “God, I’m so hot for you right now.”

“Is that how you talk to your father? You sure come from a strange family.” I loved teasing him.

I heard a chuckle come from his end of the phone, “What can I say. I’m a dirty, dirty boy and I need to be punished.”

I tried to hold back another laugh, “Oh, there’s much punishment to be had.”

Matt snorted beside me on the couch, “You two are ridiculous.”

“You’re just jealous.”

“Who’s jealous?” Ian’s voice curious.

“Matt is, he’s upset that he can’t join in.”

“Tell him you’re mine, and I don’t like to share.”

I smirked at Matt, “He says your nose is too big.”

“No I didn’t!”

Matt smiled, “I heard that, don’t worry Andy’s always been a bad liar.”

Ian’s voice was a growl on the other end of the line, “So I’ll meet you at home in half an hour…you better be there and you better be naked.”

“If you’re lucky maybe…Bye.”

Matt pushed my playfully, “I guess you two want some alone time?”

I shrugged, “Just a couple hours of celebratory sex…I don’t think that’s a lot to ask for.”

He laughed, “Hours? Now that’s stamina. Jesus, maybe I should rent Ian from you for a weekend and you can have Kyle. Trade him in for a younger model.” I feigned shock and pushed him back, “Kidding, only kidding. But no seriously…don’t tell Kyle I said that.”

We both laughed as I looked over at the clock, “Oh fuck I better go!” I jumped off the couch, “I mean I have to get through traffic back to my apartment and be without clothing by the time Ian gets back.”

Matt laughed, “You better get going then. Don’t want to get behind and have to start stripping in your car.”
