So I went a little nuts in the DVD section of the library today

Feb 24, 2010 00:42

My local library has a surprisingly large and current DVD section, alphabetized by title.  Today my brother and I decided to spend some quality time there, and here is what we ended up coming home with:

...a lot more films than we planned. )

soundtracks, my life, caprica, movies

300 has an amazing soundtrack and y'know, the fighting, sweaty, pretty much naked men make it even more fun. Gerard Butler's thighs, good God.

Dr Horrible is freakin' awesome. But it's Joss Whedon, 'nuff said.

The Dark Knight is very good but it's just so depressing. I love my dark comic book films but that's just so dark, you end up feeling like there's no hope for the world at the end of it. I miss campy Batman.

I listened to some of the 300 OST yesterday and loved it. I'm planning on watching it while filling out more grad applications. Am afraid it may be a little...distracting.

I am very excited about the Dark Knight. I wanted to see it when it was in theaters, and never did. And then I wanted to see it when it came out on DVD and didn't.

And Dr Horrible. Oh Dr Horrible. My expectations by this point are sky high. And yet I'm sure it will deliver. Because it's Joss Whedon.

One sentence non-spoilery reviews from me! earis February 24 2010, 14:14:22 UTC
300 - Way to destroy my cultural heritage!

Blazing Saddles - Madeline Kahn makes me pee my pants every time.

Children of Men - Another well-made movie featuring Clive Owen sans shoes avec baby.

The Dark Knight - Batman = awesome. (Not really a sentence, but still true.)

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - There is no way this will ever stop being AMAZING.

I love your one sentence reviews! I may have to steal the concept for future use.

And 300. I tried telling people 300 is historically innacurate, but was assured (by horney friend) that no one cares. Which, to be fair, for the most part is kind of true. Le sigh...

Have not seen Dr. Horrible nor 300, but Blazing Saddles is a cultural MUST. there's hope for your brother yet, eating habits aside. ;)

The Dark Knight is bloody fantastic & awesome & the music OMG. Hans Zimmer + James Newton Howard *clings tightly to her OST* It's one of my favorites; so haunting & gorgeous & brilliant. both the film + OST.

Earth is pretty good. A bit sad in places so I had to stop watching but I enjoyed what bits I did see.
