I don't think it will continue in such an intense vein, but I'm glad the one that dealt with her mother's murder & Beckett getting closure was handled in that way. it would have been a different story if it had been with the same witty banter & jokes.

The end was fantastic, I'll agree. Castle was given the chance to break out of his womanizer-little-boy mode & he really stepped up. then Beckett finally admitted she liked having his around. awww. ♥
I think my favorite line ever was "I have a hard job. and you make it a little more fun." because that really brings it back to the fact that Beckett IS a hard worker, to the point of being a perfectionist, I'd reckon. but Castle is able to bring some levity into the darkness that is the cop world. and she recognizes that.
OMG I just need to say again: I loved the end! I thought more about it, and I realized that one of the reasons I love the end is that this is the first time Beckett has admitted she likes having Castle around. Always before she's put up with him because she has to; now she admits he makes her job fun.
And it only took the emotional trauma of killing the man who killed her mother to get her to admit it. Oh Beckett, how I love thee.
