OMG how intense was that episode of Castle??
Okay, quick reaction because I need to go to sleep.
1. I'm glad they're bringing back Beckett's mom's murder. I felt like they introduced it at the end of last season and then didn't do very much with it, so I'm glad it got some coverage here. Also, I'm strangely glad Beckett shot the man who killed her mom. Though he was just the hired gun. I'm still glad Beckett got some level of closure.
2. Yay Robert Picardo returns! Briefly! I still love him from Voyager dispite his character on Atlantis (who I sort of didn't hate by the end). Was glad to see him again.
3. I deeply, deeply loved the end. Castle/Beckett is my one het ship, even though I don't think the show would survive them actually getting together. But Castle coming to apologize for somehow causing her mother's killer to die, and then Beckett admitting she was used to having him around and wanted him to stay around. Basically the whole episode was great for their friendship = LOVE! I wanted to smish them both.
4. THAT SAID, I hope all of the episodes going forward are not this intense. There are certain things I've come to expect from Castle, and emotional roller coasters are not one of them. Witty banter and generally well-written dialogue, yes; playing with my emotions, no. For emotional roller coaster rides, I have Supernatural. If Castle starts being more hardcore on a regular basis, I will still watch it, but I will need to find another fun piece of fluff with good dialogue, and I really don't have time for a new show.
In conclusion: OMG.
