My current fb status. I <3 Ablative Absolutes and awkwardly literal Latinisms.

With my work having been read over and reconsidered, I just realized I have been starting a lot of sentences with ablative absolutes. I think Latin-isms are infiltrating my writing. With so many ablative absolutes having been read & translated in class, I fear they've become a permanent feature in my sentence structure. What's next, an overuse of

words, latin

I found your journal by clicking the "random journal" button on the homepage, because I'm very unmotivated to do any of my own writing right now.

I wanted to tell you that I'm experiencing this exact same thing. Latin-isms are taking over my English. I'm in a Latin prose comp class this semester and although I'm not over-using ablative absolutes yet, I definitely have been abusing correlatives. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one to fall victim to this...
