Vincent's death scene was really really well done. I knew he was going to be the victim from the spoilers and sides and I was actually worried that it wouldn't feel significant enough since he's not a character that we've really become intimate with. But they made a really smart choice having it happen in the lab in front of Brennan and Booth. Emily was amazing and It'll be awhile before I stop hearing Vincent say "Please don't make me leave" over and over again. It was really sad.
i ended up being able to watch bones live (i'm horrible, but i was fistpumping when my friend told me she would have to work longer and we couldn't hang out), but -- i'm kind of surprised and then kind of not surprised at myself at the reaction i had over vincent's death. kind of surprised because i can get pretty emotional over the slightest thing, then kind of not because i did know it was coming and all

Well, one point: I don't think VNM was actually Brennan's favorite; for a number of reasons, I think that honor goes to Wendell. Do I think he's probably a close second? Yeah, I can see it. I mean, look at who's left and how they mesh with her personality. Whatever the case may be, I think she just said that in that moment to console him. I think it was a pretty poignant scene, given who they are and what Brennan's dealt with in the past - especially so in light of how utterly adorably she and VNM were together at the beginning of the episode. I'm with you that it wasn't as horrendously shocking as TPTB would have probably liked for it to be, but I'm not sure they could get that (for me, at least) unless they knock off one of the Super Six.
I also loved the sex part! :D And the part where Angela yelled at Hodgins to GET! OUT! OF! THE! ROOM! I had tears in my eyes from laughing at that part. And I'm surprised I still have any nails left after Booth was hunting Brodsky in the shipyard.
Nigel Murray stole the episode "Please don't make me leave." As soon as he began speaking I utterly lost it and began sobbing to the point where Bones actually thought I was dying and wouldn't leave me alone for an hour after. Ryan's acting in this episode was pure Emmy worthy material and it'll be along time before I can hear "Lime in the coconut" without sobbing.
And I for one think they didn't have sex. I'm sorry, but Bones is smart; even when she's hurting as much as she was she wouldn't go for mourning!sex, even with Booth. And he wouldn't let her;m he'd know it wasn't meaningful, he'd want a more happier experience. Mourn!sex isn't a good thing. Just my opinion though :)
I agree with you on all counts. I am absolutely crushed about VNM (he was my favorite squintern) but that scene was so. very. well. done. And I don't think they had sex either. But of COURSE they left it ambiguous so we'd all argue amongst ourselves about it. Gah. XD
I third this all! I'm going to miss VNM so much tbh, I thought he was the most... dynamic? of the interns in that I always had a reaction to the things he said/did because he was so well-acted and, well, basically adorable. And even though Bones had that smile on her face in the conversation with Angela, I just don't see it happening! yet anyway ;)
If we were talking about a couple that doesn't know each other as well and as intimately as Booth and Brennan, I'd totally agree with you about mourning sex being kind of weird and inappropriate. But they do know each other so well and they know they love each other. That makes it ok for me. If they did have sex I can't see it as even being strictly mourning sex. Like it might start out that way, but with them you know there's real feelings of mutual love and desire and respect behind it, so it wouldn't be meaningless. Just my opinion.
First, I loved all the Brennan/Vincent interaction at the beginning 8). And the scenes between him and Hodgins were too funny and adorable for words :}!
The "Guess who's going to get the bullet" bit, when we saw a glimpse of Broadsky on top of a metal structure (a crane, as it turned out) in an unknown location, then quick shots of each character, was very effective, I thought. On one level, I think I knew none of the main team members would die, but while watching it play out, along with the added factor of not quite knowing where the heck Broadsky was & who was in the vicinity really made me wonder who'd be the victim. I eliminated Booth, Brennan, Hodgins, and Angela from consideration pretty much immediately, but everyone else? Not so much =[.
I thought Vincent's death scene was very well done. I'll admit I never got attached to him (haven't to any of the interns, as yet, actually, though Wendell is well on the way to endearing himself to me :)), but I was still sad to see him go :(. I think him continuing to say, "Please don't

Angela screaming at Hodgins to get out of the room! Haha! Seriously my reaction was just like hers and then some. :D
Loved this episode even though I'm sad we won't have any more random facts from Vincent :[ He was my fave squintern. :,(
