Nope, it's pronounced the same in the film. I saw it recently. Bloody awful! At least the awkward cut of it I saw was.

Ah. It's been a while since I've seen the movie. (I used to watch the TV series too.) Maybe I'm getting the pronunciation mixed up with my ex-boyfriend named 'Kirgan'. (For what it's worth, he looked nothing like the Kurgan in the movie.)
