Because every single fandom ever is contractually obligated to cross over with Doctor Who at some point.

To be honest I am not remotely picky about what you do. Just. Imagine the epic.

all I want are Charles and Erik as companions, and I could die happy. Charles kvelling over the TARDIS ("THE SCIENCE, ERIK!!") in a way that makes the Doctor both happy and slightly jealous.

This is possibly the most brilliant prompt I have ever seen!
I can SO imagine Charles and 10 bonding over Sciency-Scientific things, and Charles raving over the genetic phenomenon of regeneration.

On the flip side, I could see this happening later, after Eric and Charles have already split up, I could see long chats between the Doctor and Charles over lovers who turn Evil "For the greater good" and the ridiculous get-ups they wear...I mea really, the Hot Pink helmet of Evil? AND THE CAPES?.

On the other side, I could see Magneto and the Master complaining about their naive ex's, and their own unfortunate lives.
