Charles/Erik, paradoxes of time-travelling anonymous June 10 2011, 23:38:03 UTC
Xavier (and maybe other X-Men, but not necessarily) accidentally appears in the times of WWII. He knows where to find Erik - and that he could save him from all the pain and later grief. But - and there's a catch - then they probably won't meet in the future. Won't become friends. Won't fall in love.
I'd love to see Charles saving young Erik - I have this image in my head, of Xavier shielding with his body a terrified boy, completely aware of the fact that it will change everything. And that he will lose his dear friend (will he)?

I'm sorry. I'll contain my self

*SQUEEEEE*

I'm by no means an expert, but I've had a healthy interest in X-Men for a while, and could probably bullshit think something up if you need help. I also am in need of the fandom friends!

Huzzah!

Never written something with someone else ever before. Willing to give it a try! How exactly might we do this?

This fandom is gonna make me break all kinds of firsts. First deanon on a kink meme, first actual involvement in fandom. I reckon T minus 2 weeks until I write my first actual slash, not just epic-friendship-slash-if-you-squint. Kinda impressive record for me to still be holding.

A/N: So I was chewed by rabid plot bunnies for this when I read the prompt and this piece was produced as a result of not sleeping.

I apologize for not quite hitting the prompt (since Charles is quite aware of where he’s going) and definitely not including the scene that OP described and urgh. Utter fail in everything. First fic in a while and obs, first fic in fandom Orz

I watched the movie whilst sleep deprived so I am not quite sure if I got details correct or not, so please just imagine that this as AU if I go horribly wrong somewhere. (I am quite aware the movie starts in Poland, but according to comic!canon, Erik and his family escaped to Poland from Germany. So um. Assume that they haven’t done that yet. OTL)

OP, I hope this can kind of tide you over until the above two lovely LJ-ers show you their masterpiece.

(He pulls the helmet off, exhausted, barely listening to Hank babbling on about how extraordinary and how precise his control is, despite the significant boost that Cerebro provides.

He feels more than sees the machine power down, the warm buzz of power fading as the last lingering effects leave him. His legs feel like jelly as he wobbles down from the platform and inevitably trips himself against steel stairs.

There’s a startled shout from both Hank and Raven but then there’s a warm, gentle grip on his upper arm and waist holding him steady.

Even exhausted, he can feel the sharp edge of exasperation smoothed by a smudge of worry that Erik projects purposefully from his left.

He smiles and lets himself be gently manhandled back to his room, soothed by that hovering touch of concern.)Erik takes him back to his home ( ... )

(Someday, not too far in the future, he will be in America on a business trip.

He will walk into a bar and sit down before the bartender and order a drink. There will be a tall man who will slide onto the seat next to him.

He will smile and hold out his hand to introduce himself as, “Charles Xavier.”

The man will study him, eyes sharp and wary but not shuttered and respond with a firm handshake and a name, “Erik Lensherr.”

And then, only then, will he finally be complete.)
