01. Air
Early on, Jason realizes that Anita has this air of death and power and seduction; but also of protection and security and safety.

02. Apples
He hears from Gwen who heard from Sylvie who heard from Richard that Anita loves apple pie, so the next time she leaves the house, he and Nathaniel bake Anita an apple pie with little pastry handcuffs on the crust.

03. Beginning
There is a moment before at the beginning of the fight, where Jason finally understands that Anita is willing to die for the werewolf pack, and he pushes up to her side to make sure she's not alone.

04. Bugs
He bugs her about everything, ending with a wide grin and wolf-puppy eyes, and is always thankful when she doesn't get mad enough to hurt him.

05. Coffee
Jason's not a stupid man, and he knows there is one thing Anita would hurt him over: drinking the last coffee from the pot and not making more.

06. Dark
It's so damned dark in Jean-Claude's bedroom, Anita always asks Jason to turn on the bathroom light -- he does so for her, and because he still worries about monsters in the dark, especially since he knows what's sleeping three floors down.

07. Despair
She pretends she can hide her despair from everyone, but Jason refuses to play that game, won't let her sink when she's always helped him swim.

08. Doors
He's counting how many doors she has ever slammed in his face -- he's up to eleven, and hopes to get up to fifty by the end of the year.

09. Drink
She doesn't drink, and since he was infected, neither does he, although he makes up for it with the intoxication of Jean-Claude's bite.

10. Duty
She pretends she stays Lupa out of some sense of duty; but Jason sees the panic on her face whenever anyone is in danger, has seen her rage at her inability to save everyone.

11. Earth
Zombies have no smell, and when Anita comes in from raising the dead, she smells like fresh dirt and blood and spine-tingling power to him -- it's like a drug.

12. End
Jason has no illusions about their fate, so he lives hard and tries to make Anita do the same, because one day they'll just be a couple of good-looking corpses.

13. Fall
When he was little, his family's church had this preacher who went on about a fall from grace at the hand of loose Jezebel women, and he supposes Anita's the kind of guy that preacher would scream hellfire at... but God's probably keeping score, and Jason knows without a doubt where Anita will end up.

14. Fire
He can taste the fire in her break loose the first time she feeds the ardeur... he hopes she knows that if she tries to bottle her passion back up, she's going to burn up from the inside.

15. Flexible
He has to be flexible in his job as a stripper; one day he hopes to have another chance to show Anita exactly how flexible he is.

16. Flying
He's heard she's terrified of flying... he might laugh at her, but she never laughs at his fears.

17. Food
The first time he met her, he thought she was food and sex and power all wrapped into one delicious package.

18. Foot
While they wait for the vampires to show up, he tries to get her to play footsie on the couch to lighten her up.

19. Grave
He goes with her to raise a zombie one night, but when they are attacked, she shoots one of the assassins in the head and accidentally raises the entire cemetery from their graves -- in that moment, Jason is absolutely terrified of her.

20. Green
He likes the greenbacks, but that's not why he strips... he's not really sure why he strips, and can't explain it Anita when she asks.

21. Head
Even though he's hurt so bad he's pretty sure he's going to die, he can't pass up the opportunity of having his head in her lap, to rub his cheek against her thigh.

22. Hollow
She's been working for weeks straight, no rest from the running after the killer vampires plaguing the county; she's starting to look hollow, and Jason has no idea what anyone can do to fix her.

23. Honor
Once he became a werewolf, all he thought he knew was turned upside down, but there is an unlikely honor amongst werewolves, especially between a submissive wolf and his Lupa.

24. Hope
For a while, he never thought Anita would never figure Nathaniel out; when she finally gets over herself to realize she loves the young wereleopard, Jason can finally hope that one day, he'll find someone to love, too.

25. Light
He loves being Jean-Claude's pomme de sang, but he misses having the morning sunlight creep across his bed.

26. Lost
He is lost before he becomes a werewolf, and after... until Anita and Jean-Claude and Richard give him something to follow.

27. Metal
She looks at him, rather askance, when he offers her his work handcuffs... it's not like they're silver or anything.

28. New
He loves to push her buttons, to find new ways to tease her -- it's like poking a tiger with a stick and he can't wait to see how far he can go before she knocks him down.

29. Old
Even though she's five years older than him, some days he wants to shake her and tell her to stop acting like a child... she'd got everything he wants and she can't even see it.

30. Peace
For all of the chaos and disaster Anita courts, there is a peace about her when she rests, a peace that Jason loves to curl up against and let wash over him.

31. Poison
Raina is a sickness to the lukoi, Jason knows that, but only Anita is strong enough to burn out the poison.

32. Pretty
The first time he heard her say she wasn't pretty, he thought she was trolling for compliments, but now he realizes that she's convinced that beauty cannot lie in a protecting hand, the warmth of a hug, the safety of her presence.

33. Rain
The best part about rain is getting wet and splashing in puddles, Jason argues with Anita, and to prove his point, he splashes her, then bolts.

34. Regret
He doesn't regret that she doesn't love him; what he feels for her is a kind of love, but not like that -- he only wants what she has, someone to love with every single breath.

35. Roses
Jason's not sure what Jean-Claude's trying to accomplish with his weekly roses to Anita, besides supporting the city's floral industry, but when Jason suggests daffodils for a change, to spice things up, Jean-Claude ignores him.

36. Secret
It shouldn't be fair that his Lupa knows his fears of rotting vampires, a secret he wanted to hide from everyone, but Anita never torments him because of it, never says he isn't good enough because of his phobia, never pretends that she doesn't have any secret fears of her own.

37. Snakes
Stephen tells him the story of the thirty-foot-snake in the Circus, and how Anita shot its jaw apart with her silver bullets, and all Jason can think about is how lucky Stephen was to have Anita save him.

38. Snow
She wasn't expecting him to throw that snowball at her head; he wasn't expecting her to tackle him and shove snow down his pants.

39. Solid
He's had a lot of women come and go, had a lot of his dreams go up in smoke, but he sees how Anita holds onto her life, solid under her hands, and he wants that certainty in his life.

40. Spring
Jason misses the way the cherry trees used to blossom in spring where he grew up, and Anita tells him that she misses the smell of freshly mown spring grass at her dad's house.

41. Stable
Jason has resigned himself to the fact that he'll never be in Anita's stable of men, but he's still her friend, and he's knows that Anita keeps friends for life.

42. Strange
He's seen a hell of a lot of strange things since he became Jean-Claude's pomme de sang, but nothing quite so odd as Anita trying to teach Damian to drive.

43. Summer
He loves summer, mostly because of the clothes the ladies aren't wearing -- Anita doesn't disappoint, although he'd still like to see her in a bikini.

44. Taboo
Jason makes his own rules, but that means he's got his own taboos, the highest of which is letting Anita face off against their enemies alone, and if he's the only one to stand with her, he won't hesitate.

45. Ugly
A lot of what he sees with the vampires and the lycanthropes is so ugly, he wants to scream and cry and be a little kid again... the blankness in Anita's eyes is the only indication that he's not alone in his loathing of the situation.

46. War
He knows she's at war with her past, and he only hopes she can find some kind of victory before she hurts Nathaniel and the other men she loves beyond what they can forgive.

47. Water
She didn't object to Nathaniel watering the garden, but she probably wasn't expecting Jason to turn the hose on her, and wouldn't listen to his protestations about her being a shoo-in for any wet t-shirt contest.

48. Welcome
Anita used to be annoyed with him, but now he's always welcome at her house, to eat her food and make jokes with Nathaniel and spend the night on the couch if he needs time away from the vamps.

49. Winter
There is something pure about winter in the woods, crunchy snow and crystal-cold air and freezing breaths... Jason catches Anita's eye and sees that she feels the same excitement.

50. Wood
Even though Anita can't slip her skin, she still runs with them in the woods sometimes, and to Jason, nothing could be better than having his Lupa at his side in the forest.
