#01 Comfort
He was drifting in a haze of warmth and smell, an incredible feeling of complete and utter peace surrounding him, but as the blurry world of dreams began to fade away Omi slowly became aware that his source of warmth rarely breathed, much less wrapped an arm around him.
#02 Kiss
At the first light of day Omi's eyes blink open to the blurry outines of a face next to him and he smiles, moving to take the hand that is resting on the pillow between them, entwining their fingers and kissing the precious silver band.
#03 Soft
Right now, Omi felt completely at peace with the world, while Yuuri was sleeping next to him, his steady breaths fanning over his chest with every soft exhale.
#04 Pain
Only when he's leaning against the door of the bathroom to where he fled after practically falling into Yuuri's lap does he notice the throbbing pain in his elbow that was nonexistant mere moments before, moments in which they had both stared at each other with wide-open eyes and bated breaths, neither of them sure whether to move or not.
#05 Potatoes
When Shibuya Jennifer peeked into the kitchen she was only the least bit surprised that none of the vegetables she'd left in the boys' care seemed to have made the slightest progress towards becoming their evening meal - then again, she told herself, she should have remembered that kissing was a much more appealing pastime than peeling potatoes when you were young and in love.
#06 Rain
As the raindrops began drumming a soft rhythym onto the porch roof Yuuri rose from his seat, taking Omi's hands and gently leading him inside, their gazes joined in silent understanding.
#07 Chocolate
Omi couldn't help but snigger quietly as he listened to an increasingly flustered Yuuri talking to his mother on the phone, trying to tactfully break it to her that while they were grateful for her taking an interest in their relationship and wellbeing, would she please stop sending them embaressing gifts and Moooooooooom, yes, by that he especially meant the chocolate body paint!
#08 Happiness
Even if their squabble about Yuuri recording a baseball game on one of Omi's favourite tapes had escalated somewhat and even if they were both sulking on their respective beds, Yuuri was happy, because there was always the certainty that their arguments never lasted longer than five minutes.
#09 Telephone (*)
Omi froze when he heard the voice on the other end - it was starting again, here at Cross; Weiß was not a chapter he could put behind him, Weiß was what he was.
#10 Ears
Just as Omi was starting to feel the cold of the winter night, warm hands settled over his ears, protecting them from the harsh wind.
#11 Name
Little did Omi know, when he moved into the small appartment above the flowershop in the Shibuya district, that the name would once become so important to him.
#12 Sensual
Omi gives a long sigh, holding Yuuri close and nestling against him, kissing and being kissed, giving and taking, smelling, tasting, feeling, living, breathing Yuuri.
#13 Death (*)
Death isn't just an empty word, it's a certainty and Omi knows he's already signed his death sentence long ago; he just wishes, hopes and preys that Yuuri won't be there to witness it.
#14 Sex
Sex, Tsukiyono Omi discovered, could be an incredibly frustrating experience, especially in the event of just having fallen into bed and then realising the neccessary utensils were still downstairs at the bottom of the travelling bag.
#15 Touch
It's been four months since they moved into their new appartment, but still Yuuri is sleeping on Omi's side of the bed; maybe it's because he still hasn't gotten used to having so much space, maybe it's because the cats have annexed the other half, but maybe it's simply because he misses Omi's touch.
#16 Weakness
Omi's aim is impeccable as usual, especially when his reward for finding Yuuri's weakness - that certain spot just below his jaw - is winning the fierce struggle over the last piece of chocolate.
#17 Tears
He was shocked to see the everpresent smile on Omi's lips die and dissolve into tears.
#18 Speed
It never ceases to amaze Omi how Yuuri's hand can slam down on the slumber button before the alarm has had time to give so much as a reluctant “beep”, but it then takes him over half an hour and several soft pokes and kisses to rouse the dark-haired boy.
#19 Wind
It came as infinately surprising to Omi that, when Yuuri was riding on the motorbike with him, even the rush of the wind was drowned out by the pounding of his own heart.
#20 Freedom
Even after becoming a couple both boys hardly dare to explore their newfound freedom; every look, every hesitant joining of hands, every shy kiss still fills them with breathless awe.
#21 Life
“And you're sure you want to place your life in my hands?” Yuuri asked with a grin, as he set the pot on the table.
#22 Jealousy
Shibuya Yuuri was by nature not a jealous person, yet he had to admit a twinge of envy when he watched the cone of ice cream that was being eaten by Omi with a devotion formerly unknown to mankind.
#23 Hands (*)
Soft, caressing lips glide over his neck and shoulders while equally gentle fingers begin to wander under his shirt in tender exploration, but he catches those loved hands and pushes them away, saying he's not in the mood; too closely have they strayed to his bruised ribs and he'll sooner have Yuuri be hurt by his behaviour than let him find out the truth.
#24 Taste
Stunned by the sudden kiss, Yuuri almost drops his cone of ice cream, but a sheepish smile soon creeps back at the sensation of his fiance's still cool tongue giving a final teasing lick to his lips, leaving behind the lingering taste of strawberries and cream.
#25 Devotion
He'd let Yuuri get the hideously yellow couch because it was cheap and - despite it's colour - pretty comfortable, but that was the only furniture item he was willing to compromise on; even Omi's devotion had boundaries.
#26 Forever
Exchanging the vows, going though the ceremony - however makeshift and cheesy it might have been - were mere formalities, because they knew their forever had started a long time ago.
#27 Blood (*)
Yuuri stares at the black jacket he just found under the bed - the black sweater with the sizable stain of dried blood, hardly visible on the dark material, yet unmistakably there - and he tries not to wonder where Omi goes in these nights when he wakes up alone, roused by the cold creeping into the sheets.
#28 Sickness
Omi gives a startled squawk when Yuuri's only reply to his insisting the black-haired boy is still too sick to get up consists of pulling him down onto the covers with him.
#29 Melody
There's a soft melody drifting up from the street, along with the distant sound of laughter, but from within the room, there is no sound at all, only a gentle whisper when the curtains sway in the summer breeze flowing in through the window, but this is hardly enough to disturb the two boys entwined together in peaceful slumber.
#30 Star
They watched silently as the star fell to the ground, unwished upon, because right now, there wasn't a single thing they'd have wanted to change.
#31 Home
It's when Jennifer greets him with the traditional “okaeri”(1) for the first time that Omi realises he's truely found a family.
#32 Confusion
Whenever he's so near to Yuuri that their skins almost touch, Omi is so close to putting his arms around him, so close to pressing his lips to his, so close to admitting that Yuuri is all he wants, so close to everything suddenly making sense and all insecurtity and indecision falling away, but then a single movement, a word, a sound from outside destroys the perfect picture and he reminds himself that they're only friends - more than that, roommates- and any stray thoughts he's having are are purely due to that unfortunate evening.
#33 Fear
There are many things Omi is apprehensive about: whether the money'll be enough for the next rent, their friends' embarressing questions, passing finals, heights, losing Yuuri, but his greatest fear of all is forgetting they ever met.
#34 Thunder/Lightening
After Omi's archer had shot his character twice without even giving him so much as a chance to react to the unseen threat, Yuuri smirked - soon the whole virtual landscape was engulfed by lightening.
#35 Bonds
He doesn't care if people say if it's just reading body language, to Yuuri it's telepathy, nothing less than magic, this bond that draws him closer to Omi than he ever thought possible.
#36 Market
“I don't care what you say,” Yuuri pouted as they made their way through the rows of shelves of the pet store, “any bird that says 'bad omen' is just creepy, even if it's a parrot.”
#37 Technology
It's when Yuuri leaves for the bathroom that Omi pads over to the door to make sure, he's really on his way down the corridor, before he starts tapping away on the other's keyboard, easily bypassing the security measures and changing the password Yuuri has been fruitlessly trying to remember for the past twenty minutes; all that and the brownhaired boy still has time to spare to lie back down on his bed and look inconspicious reading the TV magazine before Yuuri returns - not bad for 1 minute 40 seconds.
#38 Gift
Omi so generously giving himself to him is gift Yuuri knows he'll never take for granted.
#39 Smile
Omi looked up from his notepad where he had just been jotting down observations on organic molecules when he felt a gentle nugde against his ankle, only to find Yuuri apparently competely immersed in Professor Hohenheim's lecture, merely a tiny smile giving him away.
#40 Innocence (*)
Omi tries to tell himself that this isn't the real him, that it's not just a masquerade, that it's not him who goes out to kill whenever he gets the word, that there's no blood staining his hands, but at the same time he has no illusions, he knows he's hiding behind this mask of innocence.
#41 Completion
The two boys grinned as they pushed the last box into the closet of their new appartment; they'd agreed to leave this one untouched, because emptying it would have meant completion and completion always meant an ending of sorts, so the unpacked box was to be their reminder to keep moving forward, keep discovering new worlds together.
#42 Clouds
Omi gave an exasperated sigh - after the third baseball glove shaped cloud he'd given up on playing the the imagination game, but he figured there were worse ways to spend the day than simply lying on a blanket with his boyfriend, enjoying the way the sun shone warmly down on them.
#43 Sky
Every morning Yuuri sends his “thank you”s to the endlessly faraway sky, that he can embrace the one he loves.
#44 Heaven (*)/ #45 Hell (*)
Heaven, they say, is a paradise you go to after you've lived through what time you're granted on Earth, but Omi knows there is no place in heaven for sinners and even if he's not ashamed of what he did, a sin is a sin. Maybe the certainty that there is this one place he can never follow Yuuri is the true nature of hell.
#46 Sun
In the warm afternoon, the brown-haired boy rose from the flowerbed he'd been tending to and shaded his eyes from the sun, that bright orb in the sky, that even though it couldn't be seen at night, would surely rise again and bring light after the dark.
#47 Moon
In the pitchblack of the night, the black-haired boy's mouth hung wide open as he stared through his brother's telescope at the white surface at the moon, that, he imagined, had to feel smooth to the touch, if he only stretched out his hand.
#48 Waves
Tiny waves rolled against the side of the bathtub as breaths mingled together, caressing flushed skin, lips met in slow and tender kisses and bodies moved in unison as if they were meant to do nothing else.
#49 Hair
Yuuri peered up at Omi, very comfortable in his current position stretched out on the Shibuya's living room sofa with his head resting in his boyfriend's lap and fingers tenderly combing though his hair.
#50 Supernova
Omi quickly reached the conclusion that a supernova could hardly radiate any more heat than the truely spectacular blush that spread across Yuuri's face upon removing the last layer of paper from the package from home.
