Okay maybe its just me but my icon is not turning black and white? I'm confused? BTW, I use PSP8

I use PSP8 too.
Did you make a new layer and fill it with black then put the blend property on colour? x3
Orrr..
You could duplicate the layer of your picture and colourize it.

Yeah, I made a new layer and filled it with black and alos put the blend property on color. By x3 do you mean make three layers and fill it with black??

Okay, I tried the second thing you told me to do(by duplicating the layer and colorizing) and followed the rest of the tut. And here the result:
