I can't follow a recipe...

Okay, I guess it was lucky that today I had a trial run of the recipe I'm going to make on Saturday.

In my defense, I didn't know Brussels sprouts could do that.

The recipe said to choose tiny sprouts, which I did. And the tiniest one just disappeared into a stain on the foil.

What am I supposed to think?

It achieved a new state of being!

Are you roasting these? Because they do get smaller then. I wonder why you were to choose tiny sprouts? Bias on the part of the recipe author? Sprouts are good!

Yes, they do shrink. I use sprouts about the size of the ones that come frozen (1" ?) and cut them in half. How hot is the oven? I think I roast them about 375 deg because I'm afraid of anything hotter (I have branched out lately--all the way to 425 with potatoes, but sprouts...maybe not. ) Also, they tend to dry out (thus the shrinkage), so maybe a bit more sauce.

Lord, no.

I know it is pix or it didn't happen, but I wish it hadn't happened.

I swear I'll do better on Saturday.

Oh dear. I too wanted pictures, but not as "proof" but because I'm now terribly curious what those Brussels sprouts could do.
