Maybe that's how Regina truly got deaf - too much ear smooching!

I think Mr Collins has a secret agenda of drowning everyone when he realises his love for Elizabeth is unrequited!

And then Liz says, "No, because he tried to rape me." Right? RIGHT?

Liz is so impressed she kisses him on the cheek.

She kisses her rapist?!?!?! Good lord. It's no wonder these girls are always being threatened by psychos. They have no sense of self-preservation.

I love when Bruce cries. I think Bruce Cries should be a tag, like Todd Punch.

Jess uses the phone in Liz’s room to call Regina. She asks to speak to Regina. Liz gives her a dirty look because Regina is deaf and can’t talk on a phone. Except when it’s Bruce calling, then she can talk for hours.
That is hilarious. Sweet Valley ghostwriters for the win!

Man, if I ever catch the deafness, I'm going to go to Switzerland. They can cure anything there apparently.

Randomly, wasn't there a Sweet Valley Twins book with a girl who was deaf? And there was another girl whose parents were deaf and she didn't want anyone to know, but eventually with the new deaf girl (I don't think it was Regina?) arriving, she showed that she could talk in sign language and became the deaf girl's buddy? Anyone? Am I making this up?

You're not making it up, I read that one. Can't remember what it was called but a deaf girl moved in, had trouble and a girl with secret deaf parents helped her out. The end.
