Jess uses the phone in Liz’s room to call Regina. She asks to speak to Regina. Liz gives her a dirty look because Regina is deaf and can’t talk on a phone. Except when it’s Bruce calling, then she can talk for hours.

Man, if I ever catch the deafness, I'm going to go to Switzerland. They can cure anything there apparently.

Randomly, wasn't there a Sweet Valley Twins book with a girl who was deaf? And there was another girl whose parents were deaf and she didn't want anyone to know, but eventually with the new deaf girl (I don't think it was Regina?) arriving, she showed that she could talk in sign language and became the deaf girl's buddy? Anyone? Am I making this up?

She told people she had over that they were inventors and that's why they had a phone the lit up instead of one that rang. That's all I remember about how she hid it. I suppose she'd also have to keep them locked in the basement or something. Damn handicapped people ruining her middle school social life.

There's a deaf girl named Anna in the Twins books. I don't know about the girl with deaf parents, though.
