SVT Super Chiller #7: The Haunted Burial Ground

Oct 24, 2007 18:11

I remember reading this book and thinking...what the fuck!! It is quite boring, so be warned. It was a library book, and I bought it after the library thought it was too old or tatty to stay on the shelves. It's OK i suppose; we have a one-plot character who is actually the main character (apart from the twins, obviously). Also, in the honoured ( Read more... )

recapper: zippyladoodles, sweet valley twins, holidays, unicorns, super chiller, oh hi steven

Wow, it sounds so "My Native-American is pastede on, yay!" I don't suppose they mentioned a tribe at all? And of course Jack and Kala are the same tribe, because it's not like there's any diversity at all!

Liz hopes that by wearing the clothes she will appease them

Yes. The blond white girl dressing up like an Indian--that'll definitely appease the angry spirits.

0_o again.

Exactimoley!!!! Lizzie has the bestest ideas!!!

Nope, no tribe I don't think, but my recaps have to come from memory as I can't really take a book into work and start reading it lol, so I'll check later. I don't think so though! If they had taken the story further, Jack & Kala would have been long lost brother and sister, I betcha!

I know this is Sweet Valley, so I should repeat to myself that it's just a dumb book and I really should relax, but this is just so--ARGH. I know nothing about Native Americans, and I know that's messed up.

I still can't get over Liz dressing up like a Native American. I bet those earrings were supposed to be dreamcatchers, and not all tribes use the dreamcatcher.

Okay. Stopping. SVT is not worth it! ;P

Hehe yeah do not give yourself a coronary over SVT! Hehe! I think actually it may have been Kala's original idea for Liz to wear the clothes, cos she though it would appease the spirits. Shows how truly Native American she is!!

I remember having this book, but I had a different cover.

It might have shown Jess dressed up as a witch? But I know that it had the shack on the cover.

I love how the girls can just throw a party wherever it suits them, regardless of sacred burial rituals!

Well I suppose nobody knows about the burial ground until Liz gets totally convinced by finding a pot. Lol

What makes me laugh is that Mr F will stop his million dollar construction plan cos 2 twelve year olds and a bloke say so. Yeah, right!!!

So miraculously, for one book, Jessica can sing, despite being completely inept at her television commercial audition. Oookay. Go go Sweet Valley continuity!

She can sing when it's convenient to the plot. :)

I love the way half the plot elements have been seen in other recent SVT Chiller recaps. Oh, the lack of originality! *wails*

When asked her name, the 'spirit' replies, "uh, Kelly Brooks". A famous actress is called Kelly Brooks, and Jessica realises Ellen is faking it.
Oh my gosh! This entire seance sequence is almost identical to the one in "Evil Elizabeth" (recently recapped). Even the "Kelly" thing, only in "Evil Elizabeth", Ellen says the spirit's name is Kelly Ireland. Damn you, SV ghostwriters, and your lack of originality - and overuse of the name "Kelly".
