SVH TV Episode 3.17: All Along the Water Tower

Jul 27, 2012 20:53

Today's return to recapping was inspired by one of my favourite terrible 80s/90s sitcoms, Head of the Class. An SVH book ( When Love Dies) turned up in the oddest of places -- in the hands of Eric, the show's leather-clad Zuko-lite. Don't believe me? See for yourselves.

Strangely, I think I actually remember that Days of our Lives scene... and I only ever watched a little of it in Primary School when my mum happened to have it on...

Also, you have nice handwriting.

Enid is so unnecessarily irritating on TV. Why is that?

See, my mum always had her soaps on in the afternoon when I was 3 or 4. She used to try to make me take a nap on the couch during Young and the Restless, but I'd never actually sleep. You think she would've caught on when I started naming all my Duplo people after Y&R characters.

Poor Jensen Ackles! I wonder if he's managed to mentally block out this experience yet.

People like Jensen Ackles need experiences like this to keep them humble. No matter how big a star he becomes, he will always be able to look back, shake his head and say, "Yes, but I was in Sweet Valley High."

Toddles and Winston. squee :P

Seriously though, one thing that amused me was the hairstyle and the leather jacket. It definitely shouts "early 1990s teen TV sitcom" :P

I'm so glad to see another of these! I have to admit, I thought the Silos of Billings, Montana thing was actually kind of funny--assuming it was a parody of Bridges of Madison County. Unless that's not what the writers were going for and they're just lame, which is very very likely.

Loved the recap, though! :D

Silos of Billings, Montana made me laugh for the exact same reason. I choose to believe that the writers knew what they were doing. They had to have known...right?
