Sweet Valley University #41: Escape to New York

Jan 10, 2010 02:23

NOTE: This recap is the greatest accomplishment in the history of my life. Why, you ask? See, nearly a year ago I recapped the first book in this series. As the second was already recapped, I wanted to finish off the trilogy with this book, so I purchased it on Amazon. Then I moved, and I promptly lost it. It was devastating. I blamed the movers. I didn’t even know Fozzie Bear had died. To find out now that Jessica killed him and used his fur for a coat... I don’t know. I’m really bummed.

Jessica believes that if the Fozzie Bear is still alive you shouldn't kill it to make a fur coat or anything, but if it's already dead, you could just take the skin off. And just make a coat.

And your link to that clip is what first started my ANTM addiction nearly two years ago. It's all come full circle!

I'd forgotten about some of my ANTM icons. I think I might change my default icon to one of those. I've had my current one for ages.

I remember that exact episode of America's Next Top Model when she says that...the judges thought she was brain-damaged. Kudos for finding the picture! It made me smile.

Poor Fozzie Bear.

The New York miniseries was my favourite from SVU, so thank you for finding it!

The cover annoys me, not just because of the obvious Fozzicide Jess is proudly displaying. The twins don't look anything like the Daniel twins in this pic. At all. And also, Liz's over-the-shoulder sweater is tied right around her neck. That can't be comfortable.

Okay, now I know what SVU #42 recapper meant by "aka "no continuity in the series and completely different than where book #40 was"
Sweet Valley's timeline is effing messed up. Soooo...
Jessica is dating Nick Fox, hawt cop now turned future boring student, and her life seems like it is about to get boring...or is it? Liz and Tom are back together after a long breakup where she almost flew to Denver, but Tom rushed from his revenge girlfriend's side to stop her and now they're back together."

Because there is no mention of Nick Fox or Dana in NY. I've decided that the summer break trilogies exist on a continuity completely outside the regular SVU books, since I know the 2 lifeguard trilogies have some guy named Ryan who I don't remember in school-year books...

Yes, the Summer Break books, well, break with the continuity of the standard SVU series. I know the two Lifeguard mini series are supposed to take place over two separate summers, yet when we return to regular SVU they are still freshman. My favorite thing about this is when Todd's girlfriend dies and then a Lifeguard series is inserted directly after it, and three books later we have to pick up with Todd at the funeral and all. What a great time for random Baywatch fun!

Trust me, you are waaaaaay wittier than any of the ghostwriters. Exhibit A:

“Hey! Someone get Al Sharpton on the phone. Someone made a rich white girl do work!” I’m sure he’ll come right over.

I lol'd like you wouldn't believe. :)
