Oh, Ned. The Poster Child of Passive Agressive Parenting. I can't imagine why he trusted a 12 year old with a $500 delivery in the first place, and also why he didn't just ask her about it when she came home. He must be a real go-getter at the law office, mishandling evidence and funds~

Great recap! I remember this one, but I'd forgotten just how absurd it actually was.

No kidding!

"Your honor, I request a recess because I gave Exhibit A, which would have won the case without any doubt, to my twelve-year-old daughter and she lost it. Oh, and Exhibit B was eaten by my dog."

Freakin' Ned.

Isn't it just. I mean, come on. Not to mention she told Ned she'd only be 10 mins delivering the money, but she talked to Caroline for half an hour. Not that Ned noticed.

I feel sorry for you having to read this crap. I feel love for you for recrapping it. (That's a typo, but I'll leave it.)

Limiting phone calls to one minute? Oh, yes Jessica, that's so possible.

This book makes my head hurt. So many 'if only's'.

You found a picture of a rollerskating bird, awesome.

Ned is not just incompetent, he's stupid. Trusting Jessica with $500,has he just met her?

Awesome recrap. I've been a bit down lately and you have cheered me up immensely, thanks.

It's definitely a crap book and well worthy of a recrap. It's classic SV though - Jess gets in trouble, the Wakefield parents are incompetent and Liz bails her out.

Gotta love the rollerskating bird!

Ned is just weird. He trusts 12 year olds with $500. Jessica's trust issues aside - what if she'd been mugged! I know it's SVT and so not very likely but don't forget weird ghosts and shut hang around there.

I was quite disturbed by the results of the poll too - like, I fully expected most people to choose either Ned being a buffoon or both parents needing lesson, but NOT that Alice was a competent parent. Maybe it's because she was MIA for most of this book.

Thanks :-)!
