SVU #18: Billie's Secret or "Music Kills Relationships"

First, the cover. This scene actually takes place in the book, sort of. You can’t tell, but Billie is wearing what appears to be an engagement ring on her left hand. Also, when it actually happened in-book, Steven was studying. Oh and I had outfits (yes, plural) VERY similar to the one Billie is wearing.

Ha! A store that was going out of business hired two new staff members!? From my experiences in retail, even stores that are booming with business will try to cut staffing costs where-ever they can.

And Billie needs to dump Stephen. Like, yesterday. If Liz wants to go on a feminist crusade (which is the sort of thing I fully support and all), then she should try to help Billie out of an obviously emotionally abusive relationship. And Stephen is the one thinking about the twins' perfect size 6 figures and the size of Jessica's breasts... wierd.

Word. The shop I used to work in was struggling, and by the time I left we were already on the short side from not replacing people who left, and they didn't replace me. I felt so sorry for the remaining staff.

I wish there were larger scans of a lot of the covers.

That's a vest, yes?

Yup. It's a purple, floral vest on top of a pink shirt.

Oh vests. I sort of miss you. Sort of. There's just something so funny about a vest, especially a floral one. I like to tease my ex-bf because he went through a vest phase in high school, but I went through one in middle school, so I should shut up. :D

Vest! And, as an extra added bonus, weird long necklace! Go, go 90's fashions!

Chill out. Give her a little space. Don’t argue with her. Be supportive. Stop overreacting.”
Wow, Mike should've gone back in time and told himself that when he was married to Jessica. Also? Steven has no handyman services. He can't fix anything. There's buttsecks going on here.

Lila is awesome.

He can't even fix his own relationship.

They drop a lot of hints that Mike's new Yoda-like ways stem from his relationship with Jess. That he can fix everyone else's problems because he screwed up so badly with Jessica.

Also? Steven has no handyman services. He can't fix anything. There's buttsecks going on here.

Maybe Mike just wanted a man handy? Which also begs this question: Was Steve more jealous of Jess for having Mike or Mike for having Jess?

"And he experiences a side of Billie he’d never seen before, one that is passionate and emotional. It makes him realize that she’s going to be a wonderful mother."

Yeah, that's the ticket, Steven, you asshhat... she's so passionate and emotional that she won't make a wonderful MUSICIAN, but a MOMMY! Wheee!

Dicksmack.

This is also the only book in which I kinda like Bruce.
