Those poor, abused crime scenes!!

Tony also thinks that Annabelle and Lord Pembroke's illegitimate child must be in an orphanage, or on the streets. Because they don't have foster care in England. I'm surprised he didn't suggest the workhouse as another possible destination.
It's like Oliver Twist meets the werewolf for crissakes.

I can't believe the comic relief cop is actually named Bumpo. It's like a clown name or something.

I'm pretty sure I own the Bruce-and-Lila-living-in-squalor SVU books, so I will probably have a stab at them later;
Yay!

*heart bleeds for them*

OMG, YES, it so is XD

I know. It really bugs me. Still, at least Bumpo got to get involved in the plot. For a bit.

:D

And here I thought Tallulah had made it up for comic purposes. Sorry to have doubted you!

You sure underestimated the wackiness of Sweet Valley. Your doubt hurts, but I'll live :D

I...

Werewolf?

Well, this certain adds credence to my claim that Sweet Valley is the next town over from Sunnydale.

XD It's kind of unclear in the book whether werewolves do exist or not, but... it's still on crack.

And yeah, totally. Nothing else explains all the weird happenings/serial killers and supernatural junk rolling up there.

And there were no Hispanics despite the fact that the next town over was an old factory town and had a very large population of Puerto Rican heritage.

Thanks for the Recap :-) ez_oz June 25 2007, 01:26:34 UTC
There are numerous times in this series when I wanted to slap the ghostwriters... but never as much as in this truly awful miniseries. Or maybe I should handbag-whack...

Thanks for the recap, and have a lovely day! :-)

Great revue. I have always been disgusted that SVH seem to promote cheating. I don't know how they can call Liz faithful or loyal. I'm glad someone finally pointed that out. I never cheated on my boyfriends and I have remained faithful through ten years of marriage. And yes, leaving doors unlocked in London would be as stupid as leaving doors unlocked in Melbourne, especially after a murder took place in your home! I love this book but I sometimes wonder about the level of intelligence of the ghostwriters. Thanks again for a great review:)

You're welcome!

I didn't notice it so much when I was actually still reading them, but the level of cheating is ridiculous. I suspect it's because it makes drama...

The lack of locked doors in London is just lazy research, I think. Or maybe America is just that safe?

"Class?" Liz asks innocently, as a romantic American. "What's that?"

Of everything that happens in this series, this is the thing I found most ridiculous. Really, Liz? You've never heard of poor people and rich people and all those in between?Remember Tricia Martin and her family, living in the 'wrong side' of town? Lila and her mansion? I can handle werewolves and princesses called Eliana and the twins getting that internship. Liz not knowing what the class system is threw me out of the story. Then again, there wasn't much of a story to begin with.

Liz muses that "breaking into someone's house was against the law, but under the circumstances it was also irresistably tempting." This might be my favourite line out of any SVH book ever. It sums up everything that is both wrong and glorious about the series ( ... )

Completely. It always annoys me when people say the British are the only ones with a class system, and this is a particularly egregrious example of it.

:D you're right, it's an awesome line!

Or, "love is an unstoppable force. If you love someone, you just CAN'T HELP cheating on your boyfriend and it's terribly romantic!" I never really took in either how shabby it is to actually behave that way...
