(This is my first recap, so please be gentle. Also, I hope whoever wrote the first recap for this won't be mad!)

Lila arrives at the modeling agency, spackled with makeup.

I think I said this already in the recap for The New Jessica, but when you apply at a modeling agency, you're not supposed to wear ANY makeup. They want to see your features, complexion and bone structure unobstructed. If they sign you on, someone else will decide how to make you up. Also, a teenager is unlikely to know how to do a pro makeup job. Unless she got professional instruction. It's Lila, so that's possible. Still, sure sign of amateurism.

And the irony is, Olivia might actually be better able to impress the Patmans, if she had any confidence. Shyness can sometimes be interpreted as poise, and she knows about art; I'm sure the Patmans have some choice paintings. Jessica volunteering to police up the pool area is ridiculous. Mrs. Patman would NEVER be impressed by that!

Bruce is snide to Roger on the ride home. But come on, it's Bruce. He probably leaned his head out the window on the way home, snarking at passerby, too.

Great recap! - I remember reading this (think I had to beg/borrow/steal from friend) and even at 8, had these questions about the Patmans
