Unicorns at War

Mar 18, 2008 13:10

This is my very first Sweet Valley snark, and I know this one has been highly anticipated.  Weirdly, I didn't think it lived up to the hype I remembered 13 years ago.  Anyway, hope it doesn't disappoint!

Randy Mason = Sandy Frink.

You mean he was holding a strategically-placed notebook while he was talking to Mary?

Election = AWESOMESAUCE.

Yeah, Randy was totally holding a notebook. Didn't he die?

I was so pissed I couldn't find a picture of a "Pick Flick" button!

I didn't think it was Randy, but I love busting out Romy and Michele quotes. :)

...wow. That book at least clears a few things up for me, now that I've read some of the later books and had no idea what the deal was with the "Angels."

Judd Nelson FTW! :)

Yeah, the book is built up to be way more exciting and dramatic than it is. The books that come afterward are far superior.

Kimberly is kind of a triflin' ho. It pains me that Lila would associate with her.

I KNOW!!!! I so don't get it. I can only think that she's alluring because she's a year older. I don't even remember her having a stand-alone in SVT.

She didn't even HAVE a character in SVT. She was just a generic older Unicorn known only by her name, like Betsy Gordon or Grace Oliver. I don't see why Lila follows her! She's too coooooool!
...*sigh*

Great recap though!

the unicorn books were always my favorite sweet valley books (i was too young to get into SVH). i remember this one well. i always liked the cutesiness of the "new" Unicorns so i was said when the whole split happened, especially since Kimberly really was just horrible, and the shallow Unicorns were not as exciting for me.

but, this book made possible book #7, "too close for comfort," which was super-hilarious, so I guess it was worth it.

I LOVE #7! I went home last weekend and got 3 boxes of Sweet Valley books, and I re-read that one. It's missing the last page or so, which pisses me off. :( It's a far superior book, mainly because German measels = WTF?

Someone needs to recap that! I've never been able to find it.

I was thinking about recapping it, but like I said, my book is missing the last page. If someone can fill me in on the very end, I'll work on it for sometime in the next week or so.

she loves abstinence, poetry, and English teachers

HA!

This book seems oddly disappointing, in retrospect. At the time, I was totes shocked!!1!! that Jess stole the speech.
