I've been away from work for a couple of weeks, visiting my daughter & her partner in Christchurch, as they had a baby! Yes, I am now a grandmother (Nana)! Very exciting to meet my tiny new grandson, who came four weeks early, and help out at my daughter's with household stuff while she and her partner concentrate on spending time with the baby, ( Read more... )

I feel like we've had months of rain as well. *sigh* I hope you have a wonderful spring!!!

I am trying to catch up on my blanket, but I need to knit a sweater for Christmas as well as some hats. I also need to deep clean the house but I have absolutely no ambition for that. *more sighs*

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, NANA!!

Thank you! I hope your rain abates soon too!

Do the knitting! House-cleaning, yuck! Like you, mine could use it in a few places, but the ambition there is NIL! Good luck with getting your Christmas things done so you can get back to the blanket!

THANK YOU!

Congrats to your daughter and her partner! Happy you were able to go down and visit with them, too.

I've not been very creative myself lately, but I've been more in the mood to read than write. *shrugs* It happens, but I am attempting to get some words in soon.

Yay for the reno being done! It's so nice when it's all complete. Have fun finding places for the stuff. I have things that are still in boxes in the garage from when we did ours in 2021. 🤣

Thanks! Me too, but I am quite glad to be back in my own bed again now!

Ah well, reading is still a good thing, so I can't blame you! Enjoy!

Yes! It really is. We've put away quite a lot but still need to organise a lot more! Lol to the 2021 boxes! It is weird, though - I had some bathroom stuff and could not figure where half of it had been! A few of those things still have no home at the moment!

There's no place like home! :D

It's what makes me happy and keeps me out of trouble, so it works.

Hah! I can relate. I have more space now in my bathroom after the reno and yet, I have things I don't know where to put. How that happened, I'm not sure.

plugging along...don't feel like I'm making progress but I am.
time was limited over the weekend as we got my daughter's new birthday kitten, so we'll see how I fit time in around her (and the jealous doggos ;) )

I sadly lost a friend on Friday who had been struggling with drug addiction for a while. It kinda left me numb for the last few days. I do have the con to look forward to this weekend.

So sorry to hear that *hugs*. Think of the good memories, and hold them close.

I hope you enjoy the con!

Interesting as I have a good LJ friend here who just moved from Auckland to Christchurch to be near his family :)

Oh wow, small world! I've lived in Auckland for most of my life, and my daughter just moved to Chch 3 years ago. It's lovely down there - my husband and I have visited quite a few times now!

I also had a roommate from the city of Hamilton :). One of my favorite movies of ALL TIME is Once Were Warriors. Love Temura Morrison and Laurence Makaore!
