Steph's English notes are not substantial

Apr 28, 2008 12:52

On my birthday last Friday, I took some rather copious notes in English class. Okay, so I took my real ones on another page. But I also had Justin Masterson's lovely start on the brain...

I wish my English class was as fun as yours! *jealous* That's so cute! : D

It's really not that fun at all (have you ever had Rieger? He's quite...talky) - it's mostly us being talked at and occasionally voicing our opinions. And he holds us over too much for my liking, because I have another class to run to right after that...

Thanks, though! (If 211 is any indicator, I really do this too much, though...)

I figured as much. (No, so far for English I've had Ryan and now Lambert.) In my english class we get in groups and discuss questions and share. I'm not really sure how I feel about it, but alas, there's one class left. I hate when you're held over. I'm always panicky after Chinese Tuesday/Thursday because I have Guelzo's class right after and I like to look over my notes.

: D You're welcome. (Hey, I think that as long as you can do well while doing it, it's fine.)

See, that's not so bad - at least you're learning more actively. Here I feel more passive. (I have two classes left because he's not here on Wednesday. Not complaining - extra lunch hour!) I have to run from his class to Booz's in 10 minutes, and heaven forbid I'm late for that class...

Awww, thank you! I probably should've been paying attention in class, though... (He seems to go over the same points every day, though, so I didn't really miss much. Eh, there's college for you...)

Just for the record, that picture makes me wanna ship Jed and Justin...but I don't wanna ship them! Justin/Jesus OTP! and Jed/Himself OTP!

That's what I thought when I finished it - I looked at it and thought, "Oh, crap, they look slashy! Whoops...!"

...those OTPs cracked me up. Because they're probably true.

You see, I can't ship Jed with anybody. I know everybody is gonna want to put him and Jacoby together because of their past(this is basically a really annoying/popular thing that people do they like to ship people who've known each other forever/got traded to the same team together/etc....I just don't like it unless if it's done right or it's rather legit sounding)

In other news, waiting for DVDs to burn is le suck

I can't ship him with anybody, either - I just don't see it, and I'm not sure why.

Oh, the 'childhood friends' thing - it's hugely popular in manga and anime, too. It's just...if you've known somebody for that long, you probably would've noticed the spark years ago...

Ugh, burning...it takes forever. I remember when I had to burn CDs with Windows Media Player in the days before iTunes - it took a huge chunk out of my day. I can't imagine DVDs are any faster...

That picture? Totally adorable. And not really slashy... and I've been listening to this (SWEETEST. SONG. EVER.) for about three or four hours now. :P

Those aren't much better than my English notes, to tell the truth. We watched the Franco Zeffirelli version of "Romeo and Juliet" last week and we were supposed to look for similarities and differences between how we pictured the characters and how Zeffirelli portrays them--and one of my points was that "I imagined Mercutio to be better-looking." (Seriously, though!)

(Also, one girl did write "Romeo looks like a cuter Zac Efron" on her paper, so I guess mine wasn't so bad...)

Okay, that's totally better than me repeatedly listening to (Don't Fear) The Reaper today, even if it was only because I kept picturing Jed and Clay spending their off-day playing Rock Band and repeatedly doing that one song just to annoy Jacoby. (Thanks, by the way!)

I'm not the only person who has a sexy mental image of Mercutio, yay! I kind of wanted him as a freshman in high school...all my favorite characters tend to be killed off. (Lord of the Flies hurt me, too!)

(...wow. High School Musical disturbs me, but...wow.)

Seriously. That song has got to be one of the sweetest songs on Earth, possibly rivaled by "I'll Cover You" from Rent. (...coincidental that both of those are love songs between gay guys and are sung by cast members of Rent? Just goes to show how awesome Rent is!) Aaanyway.

I love Mercutio! Oh man. My mental image of him is basically tall, dark, and handsome with a silly grin. Therefore, the Zeffirelli version? NOT what I pictured.

I hated Lord of the Flies, though. Hated it.

High School Musical disturbs me. Zac Efron disturbs me (plus, this is not cute. Or hot. Or sexy. Or anything other than "freaky"). Come to think of it, ya know, the Disney Channel in general disturbs me...

It's so cute, though! It really is! (Gay love songs in general rock, too. They're just so sweet...)

If I was casting a Minor League version of Romeo and Juliet (because I did this for Titus Andronicus, only to have my lead, Breslow, end up in Cleveland), I would totally not be above casting Justin as Mercutio. He could pull the role off - he's got the right personality for it. (On the other hand, though, he could probably do a flip and pull off Benvolio, too, because he's just so darn NICE.)

I liked Simon and then he died. It made me so depressed. Every single character I latch onto gets killed! ARGH!

The Disney Channel frightens me. I used to have to watch it when I babysat, and the only good thing it ever did for me was inspire the creation of one of the two main characters in the novel this blog is named for. It's just...weird. And everyone has the same hair!
