Refresh my memory, please -- is soprano_no_eiji one of your college classmates, or did she graduate from somewhere else?

Definitely YES to the academic robes! When my brother-in-law got his master's at Chapel Hill, the ceremony was in the football stadium. Sitting in the stands looking down at the area where the doctoral folks were, it was one big sea of royal blue, maroon, gold, and every other color imaginable. And the hoods too! Just gorgeous.

She's my college roommate and the best friend I've ever had! She's a year older than me.

I think my favorites were the professors - they all had their most recent doctorate robes on, and they looked SO COOL. Made me actually want to get my doctorate (I sort of have to as a history major, so...yeah, not looking forward to my dissertation).
