I don't want to graduate.

soprano_no_eiji graduated yesterday. I am so, so proud of her! But the more I see graduation-related things, the more scared I get for one year from now. I don't think I like this graduating thing. They make it sound so final, almost like a death sentence. I know we'll have the rest of our lives in front of us and we'll be setting off on a new adventure, but the way they talk almost makes it sound more like a celebration of life. That's just not what graduates want to hear, and it's not what I want to hear next year.

On the brighter side: academic robes are AWESOME. I know I'm the only person who thinks they look really cool, but I used to dream of studying at Oxford or Cambridge and you have to wear your cap and gown to formal events there still. To me, academic robes are just plain epic-looking. Not as cool as Stanford's marching band uniforms, but pretty neat.

Two unrelated things:

Niese is apparently fine. He just had a scare with his leg. Jerry, let me tell you something. When you take Thole away from Niese, he's not going to be able to pitch very well. Okay?

And for some cuteness, look at Matusz's hair in this video. Just look at it. In fact, here, have a few screencaps I took from the firefighting video.

This last one's the cutest, though.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
