So...I've been busy looking for work and watching a whole lot of Asian dramas and movies in the meantime...

When I find a job, it's seriously going to cut into my fangirl time.  :(  Oh well.

I've recently started watching the Japanese remake of Hana Kimi, the Japanese remake of Korea's "You're Beautiful" (called "Ikemen Desu Ne"), and the live- ( Read more... )

Do you already know who will sub Arakawa? I can't wait for it. It's also "just" a 25 min episode but I already think it's awesome. Yes, I already watched it. It also took so long for for the anime to b translated (6 days XD ) so I often watched the new ep without subs. ..... ^^ I wouldn't say I understood that much but if you have a feeling for the character it's easier to understand. I already had to pause because I had to LOL so much. ... well, I'm going to write about it today ... maybe^^

I think I won't watch Hana-Kimi 2011. There are really no ikemen and I don't care if it's closer to the original. For me the original one is Oguri Shun's Sano so I also stopped reading the manga after the first chapter XDD

Lol, I don't know who will be subbing Arakawa, I just really hope it gets done (and soon!). I saw a comment on d-addicts that said someone wasn't going to sub it unless someone could provide them with Japanese subs for the show, but that was just one person/group that said that.

I'm not familiar with the character at all, but may watch it without subs anyway. :D

Hana Kimi 2011 is sucking me in with the plot, but I don't feel any of the attachment to the characters/cast like I did with the original. I have read quite a bit of the manga, just not always in order (I haven't read the first two books at all). There's a couple scenes from the manga I would have LOVED to see the original cast do (even though I might have died after seeing them), but since I don't really care so much about this cast I don't really care if they do those scenes or not...One of them has already passed and they didn't follow the plotline of the manga too closely, so ... meh.

Mh, maybe you should just quit Hana Kimi 2011, it sounds so annoying. ^^

Well, I'm not pretty sure, if Arakawa is easy to understand especially without subs and not knowing about the motivation of the characters ... If you watch it without subs, tell me what you understood ^^
Just remember that Nino believes she's from Venus and that's why she needs a boyfriend and Kou (Riku) says yes because she saved his live and his damn father taught him not to have any depts in live.
(btw his father is the doctor from Hana Kimi ORIGINAL^^)

I really like the actor that played the doctor in the original Hana Kimi. I'm going to watch the 4th episode of Hana Kimi 2011 and see if the plot is good enough to keep me interested, then make my decision. The actors just upset me. None of them have much acting experience it seems. :/ Interested to see the Akiha (photographer) character though...in the manga, that character is a bisexual male. Should be...different.

I'll keep in mind what you said about Arakawa. I'll give it a shot without subs and see how much of it makes even a little bit of sense. :D
