Why should he follow the rules? He's quite capable of thinking for himself and they shouldn't be treating him like a child.
He wants them all to stop shouting at him. He wants them to stop telling him what he can and can't do.
This is his life and he should be allowed to make his own decisions.
If he wants to leave, he should be able to leave.
The sooner he leaves, the sooner he'll be free.
