It was always with great distaste that she made the bi-weekly trek to the central library. Her mother wanted her to be well-educated, of course, and knew that spending time amongst the great works of their world would prepare her for any possible situation.
She would walk up and down the aisles, running her fingers over the spines of the ancient books and trying not to take in the smell of musty leather and decaying paper. She wished to be outside, enjoying the light of the suns.
The day they met, she had been thinking about the tea shop at the end of the street and the lovely little cream puffs she’d had two days prior. He was thinking about the final question on his admission exam and decided that, while he waited for a response, he might as well refresh his brain on the items he knew would be on the third exam.
Both were so lost in thought that neither noticed the other reaching for the same book.
Not long after their first meeting, she had informed her mother that she wished to take on a tutor, as it would help her to have a second perspective on what she was reading, someone to put the lessons into simpler terms to ease her learning. The queen agreed and met with the young man, to assure that her daughter would be safe.
Deeming him to be nothing of a threat to the crown, the Queen agreed. Now, nearly an annual later, she continued to make a spectacle for her mother, while he arrived at the library nearly an hour earlier, so that he would actually get some studying done before she arrived. For, once she arrived, the head of the library passed her the key to the private study room - for the future queen should not have to sit among the common people - and he would be waiting with a stack of books.

"Where does Moritanium fall on the periodic table?" he asked, pressing kisses to her neck as his hands roamed along her bare back.
"Um," she breathed, trying to remember how to speak, let alone where the dumb metal sat. She really doubted that, as queen, she needed to bother with such information.
"What happens when the miners of the West come to you for assistance and you know nothing of their task?" he mumbled before catching her lips with his own.
"Are they going to bring official business to the coronation?" she asked, raking her fingers over his chest. By the end of the following week, she would be the queen of the Outer Zone.
"Highly unlikely," he managed before pulling away from her. They stared at each other for a moment and a wicked grin came to her face.
"Then I guess you’ll just have to accept a new position, my dear Ambrose." His brow shot up and he knew that there would be no more studying that night. "Be my advisor."
"Always, Leona."
