"Just one. You can give Chewy one of his too. Only fair." Kirin squeezed Jamie's arms before he got to his feet, going upstairs to retrieve wrapped boxes from their hiding places.

"Okay!" April climbed out from under the tree and stole Kirin's spot on Jamie's lap. "Nothing for Jamie! Just me and Chewy!" she called up the stairs, giggling at the look on Jamie's face when she said it.

Blowing a raspberry on her neck, Jamie grinned at her high-pitched squeal.

"Why can't I have a present?" he asked, tickling her a little. "I was all excited. I never got to open presents early when I was a kid."

An exaggerated pout.

"Because Jamies aren't supposed to get presents!" April giggled, squirming. She did, however, manage to buy a bag of Smarties for him and all of his other selves when she went out with Kirin, but they wouldn't get it until tomorrow.

Kirin returned downstairs with several boxes in his arms, the wrapping paper for all but one decorated with finger paints and glitter by April.

"One for April, Chewy, Jamie, not the extra ones, and Me." Kirin set them all in a line beneath the tree.

"Who first?" he asked even as he picked up April's gift to hand to her.
