"Never." she stuck her tongue out at Kirin as she crawled out from under the tree to grab a cookie before returning to her spot. "What's a sous?"

"Yeah?" Jamie said sliding an arm around Kirin's waist, munching on a cookie. "What's a sous?"

He grinned at April. "Like Dr. Seus?"

Kirin tsked and sighed at the both of them. "Sous is the assistant chef, the helper one. I guess Dr. Seuss could be a sous, but then the eggs might turn out green."

"Nu-uh. Sous is French for under!" she grinned, biting her cookie and chewing proudly.

"She's getting too smart for us," he whispered loudly.
