Amerie frowned slightly, milling through the throng of people intent on getting very far away from the explosion as quickly as possible. It would be the perfect cover to go anywhere. They couldn't check everyone, and a fake name wouldn't be out of order for the situation.

But...to where?

New York wasn't really her home, and they expected her to be there. Staying here would be madness. Colorado...she had no home there anymore. She had no home anywhere.

She didn't have a lot of money to be spending on aimless tickets, either.

She sighed in frustration, glaring at the bus pulling in, before noticing a familiar face in the crowd.

She frowned slightly. He must be heading home. To Benny or whomever. She figured she might as well send him off.

"Think he'll believe you passed out at a bar?" She asked wryly, breaking free of the crowd and walking up to him.

Billy turned around when he felt the presence of someone too close for his comfort. To his shock, he saw Amerie. He hadn't seen her for days, so her presence was a welcome one. He moved forward and locked her in a tight hug as warm feelings spread within him.

"I thought you were dead, or they'd captured you," he told her. He let go and looked into her eyes. "So wherev'e you been?" he questioned.

Snark, a laugh, maybe even a scowl she expected. Being jump-hugged, she did not. It was kind of awkward, really. Hugging wasn't something she'd done in awhile.

"I don't plan to be killed or captured any time soon." She laughed lightly. "I was staying in a motel, is all. What about you?"

"Been staying on the streets," he told her. "I haven't slept for more than twenty minutes in three days. I keep thinking the people around me are Primatech dudes." He gave her a lopsided grin and looked around.

"So, you going back to New York, too?" he asked her.
